Dellus takes some time to study the
positioning of the enemies, planning a way to attack without revealing
where they were hiding (just as a precaution, I guess they can not see
Dellus and Adrienne even if they come closer - I think the spell is
still working -  and to evade a lucky shot from the enemies).

"If we start shooting with light bolts and arrows, we
could give away our position, and a lucky bastard could hit us by
sheer luck. We could try to split and while I start to attack from a
little afar you could charge and get them surprised.
The main problem in this plan is that we can't move too well in the
forest, and thanks to this extremely good illusion spell I could end
up hitting you with a stray magical bolt. What do you think?"

He whispers to Adrienne

>Probably. They're bad news. Very good at hiding and very good at killing. Then again, no one is better at killing then the HMRC.

"Steve, they're trying to talk to us. We need an orbital bombardment NOW!"

Adrienne's gaze flicked over to Dellus.

She whispered back.

"Once we break cover, it'll be easy enough to maneuver. Find a good spot to snipe from-I need my fellow knights here. When I blow the horn, that's the signal to attack.

Also, from what I understand, it's much easier to undo a spell than to cast it. Diego will be ready to do so."

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

((The lack of planning means the squad will have to go all out when the enemy reinforcements come :V. Most of the enemies in the defensive line are tired and frightened by what happened during the night, but the ones arriving will be in better condition.))

((Lack of plan? Backup morale plan works.

Aim for their leaders, but the CHARGE would take a turn, so we plan in the next turn after we ride into the attack or generally attack at all.))

Action: Look for a better place to snipe from and wait for Adrienne's signal

That had been pretty effective. But now the other enemies were escaping to likely get reinforcements. That wouldn't be good. She went up, drew her short sword, ans attempted to disarm them.

Arcane Steel - Turn 21 - Strike while the Iron... Part Three

The moments drag on and reinforcements may arrive, but the tightly-packed formation the enemy took makes it almost impossible for the group to attempt a common charge. As their makeshift plan is put into motion, the stakes get higher.

April decides to disarm the men she had just shot.
-
Candy is still with the person above.
-
Diego decides to take down the frail shortbowmen with his knives.
-
Adrienne sulks.
-
Dellus chooses positioning himself better.
-
Davie prepares himself for some fire machinegun action.
-
Thelfin keeps his position and aims for the leaders.
-
Falion is talking to his no-good friends.
-
Ktimbi dismisses the wolf and prepares a magic attack.
-
Airgead will go for Fallion.

April merrily skips to the stumbling enemies, the ones easier to disarm. [4v4-2 , 4v5-2] She notices the men seem to be too busy suffering terrible pain, bleeding and generally dying to oppose her. She easily disarms both of them and then calmly goes for the one whose head is bleeding. [5] Unfortunately, he is back on his feet and also very angry, charging the knight with everything he's got. [1v2+1] Although the bandit's fury manages to help him through the pain, April dodges his clumsy attack with some difficulty. [3v1](1) She tries to knock him out with a strike from her sword's hilt, managing to hit him to no effect. Their armor is too good for a ragtag band of bandits and it is a true nuisance, allowing him to shrug off the attack and try his hand at another of his own, swinging his longsword with murderous intent towards her. [4v3+1] This time the blade hisses through the air and passes right by April as she dodges. [2v3] She tries her hand at a new attack and charges him with her shortsword in hand, but he sidesteps and quickly covers the distance between them to bash the knight with his shield. [5v1+1] Her feet move to attempt a quick sidestep, leap or roll, but she is unable to dodge in time as the bandit hits her right on the chest with his round shield. April loses her footing and the ruffian continues his attack by stepping forward in a quick motion and lunging towards her. [4v1](3, 1-2) The tip of his blade strikes April in her left arm, but the attack lacks strength; the steel pierces her common clothes and is stopped by the masterfully made chain mail. [1v2] She answers with a quick strike of her own, but the enemy leaps back and laughs mischievously at the girl's attacks before charging in for another go. [3v6+1] April casually dodges with ease by sidestepping and watches as the maurauder's sword passes far away from her. [1+1v1](1-2) She uses the chance to hit him, but her sword bounces harmlessly off the steel armor, although the female has dodged with such ease she has enough time to try her hand at another attack. [5v1](3) The man spins to face her in time to see a metal hilt with fine leather wraps coliding against the side of his helmet and dazing him. [2] The blow seems to remind him of the bleeding, [1] and the criminal is weakened enough to allow April to get him disarmed.

Davie waits for the incoming enemies. [4] The ruffling reveals...[1] enemy. The bandit looks mildly shocked as he sees the fire mage, spins on his heels and tries to runs away through the same trail he came from. Obviously does not want to fight alone. [4] The prussian clenches his fist and fire sprouts around his arm in a small flare whirlwind before creating small paths of fire on his veins; this time it feels different, less unstable. The amount of energy concentrated in his arm allows for six shots, and he aims his hand at the fleeing enemy. His hand concentrates the fire energy seeping from his veins, forming six small fireballs on the tip of each of his fingers and at the palm of his hand, which are fired with a terrifying roar of flames, burning leaves in their wake as they swirl in a coordinated dance of death towards the enemy. Davie's Firebolt Barrage The twisting spiral of fire makes its way towards the man and in perfect sinchrony, each bolt impacts, one after the other. The first sears through the metal, burning leather and flesh in the process, infiltrating the armor and melting part of it as the bolt almost obliterates the area between the man's right flank and hip, creating a dark smudge of burnt meat. The man grimaces as the world of pain hits him and stumbles, allowing the second bolt to hit his helmet and engulf it in flames, spreading second degree burns over his face and scalp. As the man is about to cry in pain and despair the third bolt hits his left arm and the smell of burning flesh spreads through the forest as a good part of his muscles suffer the painful process of cleansing by fire. The man faints almost at the same time as the fourth, fifth and sixth bolts hit his weakened helmet and head (adding even more to the fire), chest and left flank. Wow. The bandit is now a disgusting pile of burning flesh and bone. Even if he is alive, he won't be for long, allowing for a gory Explosive Finale (which permits the absorption of part of the energy contained within the dying bodies through the recovery of the flames).

Baking a pretty cake - Very Close/Close
Spoiler: Longbowman (click to show/hide)

Diego retrieves his throwing knives and prepares to slice the throat of a shortbowman. He slowly approaches the enemy from behind and...[1v6] The shortbowman takes notice of the situation even before Diego manages to put his knife on the enemy's neck. [6v2](6,5) He throws the knive at the second man's neck anyway and the streamlined blade cleanly slices through the jugular vein before sticking itself into the marauder's windpipe in a split second. He drops his shortbow and drops to the ground gurgling, with only a few moments of life. [2] The remaining bandit is unable to see Diego's concealed figure, has no idea on what just happened and is scared. He runs towards the camp accordingly.

Adrienne sulks and Dellus starts to look for a place where to attack from. [6] He finds another nearby elevation with an old, thick tree growing on top of it. Unfortunately, there are enemies moving from the place towards the camp.

Thelfin notches a new bolt and scans the area for high-ranking enemies. [4] He finds someone with better armor than most, and although he does not seem to be the commander, it is certainly one of his lieutenants, especially because he just left the largest tent. The knight carefully adjusts his sights and fires. [6v2](6,4-3) The enormous crossbow bolt hits the lieutenant's helmet and get stuck on it in a bad position, probably the reson why it did not penetrate all the way, while the impact almost causes the man to fall forwards. He turns backwards and orders the men to observe the area nearby. [2-1] They fail to locate the hidden knight in dark blue armor.

Ktimbi dismisses the wolf, who was growling in warning about incoming enemies. The enemies are right behind the folliage and stalks ahead of him. The african shaman quietly starts to work on an incantation of madness. [1] The preparations fail due to the fatigue he is suffering and he spouts a small amount of nonsense in his mother language due to backfire, prompting the archers to once more fire at him after discovering their target was still alive, being assisted in their attempts by one of the arquebusmen. [6-1v6+1][6-1v6+1][1-1v6+1][4-1v4+1] The four long arrows and one ball of lead hiss by him as he dodges all of the projectiles. His muscles hurt and soon even dodging may be difficult.

Airgead quietly seeks Fallion.

Fallion orients the reformed bandits and starts to sneak around the area, following the same path Ktimbi took. [2] Unfortunately he is not silent enough, which results in him being discovered and received with a volley of arrows. [2] Airgead leaps towards Fallion but it is too late. [3-1v1](2,6-3);[4-1v2](1,2-3);[4-1v3] One of the arrows miss and the second crashes harmlessly against his armor, but the first one penetrates his right flank's plate, ripping through the flesh and causing bleeding. The projectile itself helps seal the wound for now, and Fallion himself is not deterred by the arrow, but medical assistance would be appreciated.

Holy crap. Uhhh... Oh man. What a poor sucker, caught on the wrong end of a determined fire mage. Talk about overkill...

Welp, that was a waste and at the same time amazing(ly cruel). ;D

Advance towards the camp, looking for somebody else from my group. If anyone tries to attack me, throw the fire that is on the burning corpse at them.

(You should have killed him even harder, ya pansy. :3)

Diego fired an arrow at the retreating bowman's head to prevent him from getting back and running his mouth about something killing people in this position. The last thing he needed was an investigation team.
