(( I thought Dellus would fare worse than this....))

"Hum... Hello, sweetie...uhn...You know how to fight with swords (I did not know that)...This is a little training so I can learn swordfighting...Do you want to come too? Are you sure, this will be very dangerous...AND YOU WANT TO FIGHT ADRIENNE....Are you sure?...This is dangerous....Hum..." said Dellus after he saw what his wife - Ilyria - could do.

ACTION: Try to convince his wife to stay in the town.

Ktimbi picks up the gist of his partners' pantomiming antics and grabs the fletching of an arrow shot at him during the night, hands it to Falion to mark with his crest and whistles for a bird to deliver this object to the rest of the party.

((No turn 05-04-2012 both because of a late action and also because Adrienne VS Ilyria is taking forever. I mean it. Both girls keep chaining in 2-3 hit combos against one another, then countering, then kicking each other, losing footing, regaining footing, sliding, skidding...This may as well take too much time for me to finish now.))

Arcane Steel - Turn 16 - Wild Swordfighting

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

While the settlement and its inhabitants kicked into full gear and most of the squad swiftly closed into the forest thanks to their fast mounts, Falion and Ktimbi tried to keep themselves concealed time enough to reunite with the main group and strike while the enemies' hearts faltered. Meanwhile, the mood around the town square grew tense as two fierce female warriors prepared to cross blades.

Each woman will be granted 25 stamina, stamina is deducted from the attack vs defense roll.

Adrienne smiled and openly challenged Ilyria to a duel while Dellus tried to convince his wife to stay. [2] He failed to do so and she'll still follow them, and to aggravate the situation she turned back to Adrienne with a smile and accepted her challenge. "Shall we?" The young girl took her stance and slightly tauted her legs' muscles. She did not even bat a eyelash as the frank knight talked about her husband in a way she thought guaranteed to create anger (Ilyria is well-trained, calm and a cheerful female, making her outright immune to taunting). [6]vs[4] Ilyria's cheerful smile turned into a blur as she swiftly covered the distance between her and Adrienne, who in turn barely defended, her metal gauntlets making a screeching sound as she was forced back by the blow. Taking advantage of the frank woman's defensive position, Dellus' wife strafed sideways and bent her body in a horizontal slashing motion. [6]vs[4] Once again, Adrienne's blade felt the blow reverberate across her armor and muscles as Ilyria's face spun by her own face's side in a wide smile. The frank knight clenched her longsword, quickly regained footing and went on the offensive, kicking off the ground and dashing towards the retreating girl. [5]vs[1] Ilyria was surprised by the strength contained within the blow, defended precariously from the attack and for a moment seemed dangerously close to falling before using the tip of one of her swords to re-stabilize her center of gravity and avoid crashing against the ground. Adrienne used the opportunity to rush for another attack, [6]vs[6] but this time steel clashed against steel as the younger woman locked the longsword with both short blades. [5]vs[1] Ilyria ended the stalemate by kicking Adrienne's armor and causing the former to lose footing and fall back for a moment before bending her body and changing the weight distribution, avoiding the fall. [4]vs[6] Ilyria dashed in for an assault but was promptly blocked and counter-pushed by the frank knight, [2]vs[4] who tried a lower slicing attack with similar results, as Ilyria blocked it and kicked Adrienne's blade away from her. [1]vs[5] Dellus' wife tried to gain the upper hand by executing a sliding attack but she was violently repelled by Adrienne, who took the split second to [1]vs[3] leap in and have her attack blocked and once again countered by Ilyria.
Ilyria: 25-10, Adrienne: 25-12
Sparks flew everywhere in sight as the women's dance of death continued incessantly, with the calm Ilyria smiling and aggressive Adrienne grinning as they exchanged blows. [5]vs[1] The younger woman once more flash-stepped with incredible speed against Adrienne, tackling her and using the moment to fit another blow [6]vs[2] which connected almost perfectly, sending the frank knight rolling against the pavement and making a sharp turn to kick the stone ground, dashing against her opponent. [1]vs[3] Her attack lost much of its momentum as she closed in and Ilyria used one of her swords to bat away the longsword, sending the other in a straight line against Adrienne's neck. [1]vs[1] Adrienne moved slightly and had to concentrate all her efforts on defending with her right forearm's guard, allowing Ilyria to sneak in another attack, [6]vs[6] which was also promptly blocked by Adrienne.
Ilyria: 15, Adrienne: 13-10
Both the knights breathed in the brief miliseconds of peace before a blow was dished out, and another one and one more, each attack being launched in rapid succession as none of the women gave up, none accepted to be defeated. Adrienne gasped for air, for that she had been hit by terrible strokes of bad luck during the match, while Ilyria seemed to have the Godess of Fortune smiling upon her the same way she smiled right now towards the older woman. It had to be now. The frank woman [6]vs[5] charged for one more attack that was blocked but not countered by Ilyria, to which Adrienne answered by fitting one more slash into the deadly dance, [3]vs[5] being blocked and giving enough space for the girl to advance aggressively and close into her side, swooping Adrienne's legs from under her. The former tried to get back up, but she faced the tip of a short sword with flowery patterns carved upon the blade. The frank knight kept her face unchanged, but she had to admit she had just found a swordswoman who was a match for her. The town square was slightly damaged and both warriors had spent enough energy and shown enough finesse to kill a camp full of bandits several times over.
Ilyria: 15-1, Adrienne: 3-3 / Match finished: The winner is Ilyria, mostly due to Adrienne's severely impairing bad luck.

Ilyria, substantially less tired than Adrienne, but still sweating, nimbly leaped to her horse and rode to Dellus' side. She is better in Dellus' specific type of combat and can teach its theory during the short amount of time with the group.

The main group, composed of Diego, Davie, April (Candy still nested on her head) and with Thelfin at their front arrives at the outskirts of the woods with the help of their fast, unrelenting steeds. [6] While approaching, both Ktimbi's unnamed horse and Ileid snort and look towards the right side of the forest. All of the group manages to see Ktimbi trying to call for a bird [6] and being answered by a hawk which lands atop the african's head and refuses to take the message. Falion [6] also takes notice of them, and both Falion and the rest of the squad hear a crashing sound and see a group of longbowmen desperately running towards their camp, shielded by the trees. All of the nearby nobles had been seen, their colorful attires and shining armor denouncing their status, although the fear in the bandits' eyes also meant another thing: they had seen the orange-haired demon and a man riding some kind of hellish, horned beast. They did not have the bravery to fight what they thought as certain death, and they hoped that maybe the two demons outside sated their hunger by slaughtering the nobles' party.

>Sorry, Dwarmin. Very bad luck, I have to say, but at the very least it was not a royal thrashing.
>The group has been seen by the bandits. Some of they must have brown pants by now.

Falion grabbed the arrow that Ktimbi picked up and awaited his plan. Ktimbi then called out in the natural tone of one of the many avian species of the land, of which Falion couldn't recognize. A sharp cry rose from atop the canopies and a hawk was seen, darting downwards and nesting lightly on the shaman's head. Falion reached out with the arrow, crest marked on the shaft, but was interrupted by a canine growl.

He looked at Airgead, the Wolf was looking at something far to his right. Bandits, running head over heel in their...retreat? The didn't even dare look at what they were running from, he guessed, as they were tripping and stumbling over each other in their rush to get back to camp.

Then he heard the familiar sound of his own steed's movements. It was moving in a group, alongside what seemed to be his allies. He waited until the bandits were out of eye-shot and waved at the newcomers.

"Hail, my friends!" said Falion, raising his visor to show his face. "Where are the rest of you all? Weren't there seven of you whence we last met?" The kitten was still accounted for, being an honored warrior of the felines.

Adrienne raised her hand in the signal of concession, a disappointing frown on her face...and flashed back to her own lessons-Adrienne's mother, beautiful and dangerous and probably quite mad-teaching her the path of the sword.

Why are you on the ground girl?

Because I was too slow.

You'll just have to be faster next time, won't you?

Adrienne rose to her feet, laughing and brushing off her greaves. She had to admit-that was fun! Hadn't had that much of a challenge in years...there was a sting of lost pride, naturally, but it had been to a worthy opponent, at least. Her own training had taught her that control of emotion was a warriors greatest asset-and hadn't Hierdach's unswerving calm unnerved her in the slightest? It had, she admitted patiently. Her own passionate style of fighting had been fairly matched by her opponents icy calm.

Oh, good thing she wasn't dead, she reminded herself-had it had been a real fight, she would have been. Adrienne promised to herself that she would get better. She *had* to get better.

"Well fought, Lady Hierdach. Forgive my earlier words about your husband-they were merely intended to prove your mettle as a warrior-which, I concede, you have done most admirably." she called out, remounting her own steed.

"Teach him well-and keep your blade and mind sharp. We're not quite done with each other, I warrant."

Indeed, Adrienne thought...not quite done. She spurned Lernea into a brisk trot.

Action: Catch up with the rest of group

Dellus look at his wife, not believing that she had just won the spar.

Then, he mounts in his horse, and, with his wife and Adrienne, goes to meet the rest of the group.

"No time to talk! Get the runners!"

Shoot as many firebolts at the runners I can. Become a flame machinegun.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

"Aye." replied Falion, putting down his visor and handing the arrow shaft back to Diego, who was along with the rest. Returning back to Ktimbi he said: "As the others go and attack from their direction, let's say you and I attack from another, opposite direction so as to prevent any of them from escaping. How does that sound, brother?" He made sure to follow it up with hand movements and gestures to try to show his meaning.

Sneak away from our current position and around the other side of the Bandit camp.

"Diego! That arrow is for you! We were going to warn the others that we were here but you've come earlier than expected."

Falion turned back to his battle brother. They were to finish the job that day.

"Spare the subjugates, please."

Not wanting to make noise, April took out her shortsword, and moved to block the runners' path.
