So i have my first (?) vampire who has just drained a dwarf of blood and killed him. It goes without saying that there were no witnesses. Now that the whole blaming on children and naming things have been fixed, what are the best ways to find vampires? In addition, how often do they feed? Because i have several projects going on and no one to really devote to this.

Just nickname every one and when next victim falls make slab for the victim... It will show the nickname of the murderer with his true name.

Alternatively, check all of them for unusually large amounts of personal possessions or a long history. One of my vampires was a part of ~15 civilizations. Giant block of blue text in the middle.

About 9 of my migrants have 20+ kills, but one has several hundred... I'm beginning to suspect it's that one...

Be aware that career hunters rack up a lot of animal kills. That said, several hundred sounds like vampire territory. Check him for suspicious jewelry.

It still works with Slabs...
Vamp needs to be nicknamed at the time when he/she kills the victim for that name to come on slab... If you name nickname Urist Mcdwarf to 'Vamp' Mcdwarf Slab will show you that killer was 'Vamp' Mcrealname... Nicknaming on other issues is fixed what i've seen.

One thing I don't get when making slabs for vampire victims how they know Vampires real name to but on the slab but no its "fortress name"

After five kill, I found the vampire. My captain saw this migrant hunter killinga kid and just filled a complaint. She has 14 kids and a long lifespan. She is locked away in an office.
