So many people storming out. Anywho ed, I know that some significant changes are that you can change the tone in which you address your players, morale is tracked during the game (or at least tracked better). It's a great game, there's a huge community out there, and we're having the best time trying to succeed in the Irish First Division.

Here's a story for you. This season went down to the last game for 3rd place and the chance at promotion. The Finn Harps managed by Rift tied their game putting themselves at 56 points in 3rd. My Waterford Utd team played Int's Limerick FC, I took an early lead but it was tied up 1-1 at the half. All seemed lost when in the 70th minute Limerick scored twice but then I came back and scored 3 goals after the 80th minute. The live league table showed the Blues in 3rd, on their way to the premier league, then after the 90th minute in the final minute of injury time Limerick scored a goal ending the match in a 4-4 tie. A tie only granted me 1 point putting me in 4th at 55 points. A close season until the end, there were 4 teams that could have gotten 3rd place by winning their last game.

To be fair, if Longford wanted to win, they shouldn't have hired Wayne Gretzky as their coach. In other news, I somehow managed to steal Athlone Town from Engy, because he got fired, and they decided to instead hire the coach who damn near got his team relegated.

EDIT: Also i cannot reccomend this mod enough, It adds logos for damn near every team in the game, so all of the lower league teams no longer have a sheild with their uniform design on it as their logo. http://www.fmscout.com/a-fm2012-metallic-logos-megapack.html

Alsi this will rename the leagues and cups to their real names, which many lack due to licensing issues, http://www.fmscout.com/i-1387-FM12-Susie-Real-Names-for-Clubs-Competitions-and-Awards-Fix---BETA.html

^^^^^^^^ That man Stole my Job ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Right, so I was in 3rd; went on vaction came back to a 8 game loosing streak.   We were in 8th place in the league no more games... The board wasn't exactly thrilled with my progress but... I figured I was safe to bring them to victory next season, lots of good players with good potental doing well in training and I had signed a 2+ year contract with my board.  Days after the season ends I get fired.... So I apply for every team opening; including mine.  A few Spanish National Teams laugh at me but whatever.  Athone Town my old team is like.... well we aren't thrilled but your the best to apply so far so you might get it.  2 days later -  Wayne Gretzky [AKA Silent Thunder] who took Longford [Ending 10th] and had been fired from them earlier in the season took my job.

I was pretty sure I didn't want to 'waste' the money on this game.  But it's been worth every penny.  And this Irish Season was absoultely crazy.  10th place in the league is less then 5 points away from 3rd.

All right. So we've finished our first season. It was a great accomplishment by all, and we've learned a lot. For most of us it was our first real game, and all the players can be applauded for their accomplishments.

Over the coming days I'd like to work out a schedule so we can get this organized. At that point adding in new players should be a breeze. If you can commit to the dates/times outlined you're in. Thinking about doing one game month per real life week, but likely we'll go through a little trial and error to figure out the optimum ratio.

I'd like to thank everyone who has participated, and I hope some new people will join. I'll make a whole write up on the state of affairs (In Ireland, anyways.) before we start the second season.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

I haven't played since '08 or so. What's changed since then?

Not sure much, this is my first as well. I do know in 09 or 10 they added the 3d match engine.

This game is AMAZING.

I'm obsessed with the world of soccer now (which is fine with my fiancee who apparently played quite well in school for many many years, not to the "in the game" point though).

Of course I barely know how to choose players well.  Just finished the draft after my first MLS season, and I'm looking forward to seeing if this aged, slow striker with like 17s in ALL his technical and mental attributes is worth fielding... I got him for a song and at worst he can mentor my guys.

Also going to see how my team works with a sweeper.  Next season's plan: Sweeper, DL/DC/DR, 3x Mid, 3x Strikers (with possibility of shifting some guys down to AM or DM but not likely).

If anyone has the game, feel free to post here. With seven players (Myself, Calhoun, Silent_Thunder, Engy, Rift, Charmander, and Thendash), the action is intense, and each match has an effect on other players. With more players, I expect it to be even crazier.

I enjoy taking a team from obscurity into the higher leagues.

I am in the second season of my game. I took Darmstadt, who was just promoted into the third division in the German Leagues. They were predicted to be relegated. The first year, I finished 11th. Despite my success the year before, I was still favored to be relegated. After the New Year, I am in 4th.

The problem was that the club cut my payroll from around $80,000 to less than $60,000. That made it challenging. So I have mostly a new team that I have picked up off of free transfers because I have not been given a dollar for transfers. I am nearly unable to resign anyone because their wage expectations are higher than the board is willing to pay me.

It's been real fun.

Heh, I hate football (soccer is a stupid name and it's called football everywhere in the world, deal with it) but I love this game. It's really fun to take a small club and lead it into greatness.

Wait, how does multiplayer even work?

Also, what's a good league to start in for the full "lead a team to greatness" thing?  I didn't see many options for that in the US of A.  Hell I couldn't even figure out how to coach one of the tiny little US teams, only the MLS ones.

Pick one of the nations with a more developed structure - i.e Europe. Lower divisions of note can be found in England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. I once took Dover Athletic from being semi professional (200 attendance, £28000 in the bank) to 5 time champions of Europe (55000 attendance, £125 mil in the bank) in under 15 years through a ruthless youth policy - get them young, train them hard, sell them for huge profit (or loan them), and buy them back later for less than you sold them after some other numpty has given them experience.

Crikey. Dover is a terrible place to go for an away game, as well.
