The bodies are still floating through space, exiting through various points in the ship.  One of the bodies bumps up against the porthole, leaving a reddish-black smudge of....something.

Fahim makes his way toward the lift, uncaring of it's unstable visage.

Nathan is puzzled by the bodies, and startled when the errant body bumps against the porthole. He taps the glass after recovering from the shock, trying to figure out what the hell's going on.

((*Sigh* GTG. I'll try to sneak back on later.))

Fahim feels a hand grasp his shoulder as Robert pulls him back. " I don't think that is a good idea," he syays" beaides, omthing tells me  know some...people who can help. But first weneed to get to cryogenics. Most huma-people will run to the cryobay at the first sign of an emergency and that is a good place to go. Beaides look what happned to all those people, I bet what ever is doing this is at the bottom of the ship with the escape pods, the last place we need to go."

The door leading to one of the numerous maintenence stairways opens, revealing a man dressed in a brown tweed suit.  He steps out of the shadows of the stairwell, exposing a yellow star on his chest.

The Overseer has arrived.

"I don't think you understand gentlemen," he says in a soft yet firm voice, "but the bottom of this ship is the only way we're getting anywhere.  All of the escape vehicles are located there, and unless any of you feel like swimming through the depths of space, much like our friends out there, we must use them."

Nathan shrugs since the smudge isn't doing anything, and turns around to tidy up the books.

((Also, I'm wary about the overseer. more for metagame reasons than anything. GMPCs very rarely turn out well. Just sayin'.))

((Don't worry; I don't plan on him having much of a role.  He will, however, add just a little bit of mystery to the game.))

Nathan attempts to get up to the next deck, absent-mindedly grabbing a book as he passes a stack.

The taken book makes the stack unstable, and it topples over.  The sound can be heard one deck up, where Fahim and the others are standing.

Nathan attempts to pry open the lift's doors, to no avail. Unfortunately, opening up any sort of escape system requires moving a mountain of books, and that's only if anybody could remember where the emergency doors were at in the first place.

Jack starts as he hears a crash below. "What was that?" He heads to the nearest stairway and looks down.

The stairway spirals down a few decks, then stops.  It seems that the crash came from the deck directly below...

"Oh, what the hell" Jack decends the stairs while holding tightly to the safety line. He goes down a deck then opens the door.

The door opens outward.  Jack begins to walk in, only to encounter a wall of books.  There are so many tomes that even Jack will have a hard time moving them on his own.  For Jack, however, the sheer quantitiy of books wasn't the surprise, but the sheer quantity of safety violations.

Nathan starts moving books carefully, trying to find the emergency doors.

The ship shifts more yet, and with enough force to knock books to the floor and slide against the far wall.  The door becomes unobstructed, and Jack can be seen standing in the doorway by Nathan.

The ship keeps shifting, the gyro stabalizer thrown off balance.  If the ship were to turn itself all the way upside down, everything would fall towards the ceiling.  The ceilings were not made to support much weight, and would eventually buckle, weakening the flooring, which would also eventually buckle.

Something needs to be done before all is lost.
