((Eh, the update can wait a day.  It gives me time to organize stuff too.  Also I'd really like to stop with all of the OOC shit.  I'm thinking that we would be much better off using an OOC thread.  Posting OOC stuff here really spoils the mood.  OOC thread, away!))

Robert keeps screaming and spraying his gun until

The gun runs empty.  He checks his belt for more ammunition, only to find it empty.  Well shit.

The group is upstairs in the blue room with the children, having what an observer could only assume was some sort of weird staring contest.

One of the children bravely speak up, "Where did you guys come from? Have you seen our moms and dads?"
The rest of them quickly start speaking, and rise in volume. 

Outside of the close door, the sound of gunfire stops, and cursing can be heard.  No sound can be heard from the far door.  A map on the wall indicates that the stabalizer is seven floors above the group, at the center of the ship.  It also seems that the room the children are taking shelter in is some sort of airlock from the stairway, in case a quarantine is necessary.  Why would the children be hiding in here when they could just hit a button and lockdown this stairwell?  Unless, of course, the dangers are on both sides of the qurantine room.

Jack tries to calm them down. Which just results in them asking questions louder. He sighs and checks if the airlock emergency lock button is still working.

Opening the case over the button lights it up a blue color, signaling that it works.

As Jack opens the case, the children scream in fear, "Nooooooo!  Don't open the door, mister, please!".

"What?" Jack flips it closed again "What's wrong?"

One of the children, a little older than the rest, steps forth.  He appears to be about the age of 14.

"Trust us.  You don't want to open that door.  We were chased in here by our own parents, right before they shut us in and the screaming started.  Whatever's out there, it's not friendly." A solitary tear runs down the distressed boy's cheek.  "Just...trust us."

While Jack believes the kid, he knows that the only way up to the stabalizer is through this door.  The others are blocked off, and going down and back up around would be suicidal at this point.

Jack opens the door to the stairwell a crack, trying to see how Robert is doing.
