Robert looks at whatever is coming down.

Jack sighs and goes down a floor, opening the door there.

((imma wait for gotdamnmiracles and vorthon to post before continuing much furthur.))

Robert sees a massive fleshy creature, in the shape of a crude sphere.  All over its body are opening and closing human mouths, and eyes located above each and every mouth.  It oscillates in its movements, with random parts of it's body beating outwards, then coming back towards it.  It's feet are made of human legs and feet, clustered together and bound by what look like tendons.  In fact, this thing looks like a bunch of human bodies pressed together...because it is a bunch of human bodies pressed together.  And judging from the anguished moaning, they're still alive.

The door opens easily under Jacks force, and he steps into a hallway.  The hallway is unnaturally long, longer than the ship, it seems.  He can't see the end in either direction, and doors are placed one after the other in a perfectly even pattern, each identical to the last.

"Huh" Seeing none of the normal safety features in the corridor Jack closes the door "That was strange" He heads back up to the door with the children holding it.

((Gonna stop here until they post. If I have me character die can I make a new one?))

Robert turns back and yells "Run for it you idoits!" before turning back to the thing. ((double " indicates things said in an alien language)) With a crazy grin he opned his morth and let out a series os worlds panifulto human ears ""From Yith with love motherfucker."" before letting rip with the assualt rifle.

((Yeah.  It shouldn't be a problem.  Just warn me first through PM so I choose something horrificly violent for you.  I also recommend trying to keep your character.  Unless you have a better one or something, in which case be my guest.  Oh hey also I decided to get a bit creative with my first monster.  I hope you all like it, and that it invades your dreams ))

Unfortunately, Robert does not realize that the group is already at the top of the stairs, and thus the yelling is in vain.

The monster perks up at the words, and picks up a little speed.  The assault rifle does little to slow its advance, only making the bodies it's composed of scream in agony.  Blood leaks from the bullet wounds to the floor, making it slick.

The agonized screams raise the little seam splits of sanity turn into full on rips.  If many more of those bodies start screaming. . . the entire group might all go mad.

Light is one of the main comforts of humanity.  We, as humans, are naturally drawn to light and heat, and find safety in it.  Light and security secures our sanity, mending the rips and split seams of sanity rended by danger.

Robert pumped more bullets into the thing while reaching for the antipersonal riot gernade he had been given. ""I've seen worse things than you on the moons of Ufjihg'dtutghd, now stand and fight you bastard!"" He then pulled out the gernade and threw it at the thing.

Nathan goes wild-eyed at being dragged away from his precious books, and starts struggling in vain.

"Let... Me... Go! My books! I can't leave my books!"

((Yah, mcclay, I've got to agree with jc6036 here. It does seem kinda OP in terms of knowledge to me.))

((He is still adpating to this form, when he gets stressed or is forced to do something athletic his akwardness with this form will show. Also he hasn't really had any social encounters yet, he will fuck up on those, or at least be rally damn akward.))

((So...Towns...On a town sized ship.  And going into cryosleep when deep space horrorterrors are invading?   Anyways, I'm tired if this derail.  I want to get the show back on the road.))

So to recap after the derail:
Most of the party is standing at the top of this emergency stairwell, trying to get through the emergency door, but a group of children are blocking it because they are afraid of what's been happening to their parents and in one special case, a small rabbit.  Jack went down one floor to try the other door, and walked into an endless hallway of identical doors.  He left the room to go back up to the top with the party.

The group is trying to get up the stabalizer in order to keep the ship from turning its gravity upside-down and destroying the ship; the stabalizer is in the center of the ship, and the group isn't very far from it.  After the ship is stabalized, escape is the key to survival.  However, the only emergency escape systems are on the bottom of the ship.

Nathan also made a struggle as he was being pulled from his precious archives.

Also there is some sort of hideous creature made of the deformed bodies of some of the ship's denizens, all mashed together in a weird way.  Meerly hearing the thing and it's horrendous moaning causes rips at the seams of the human's sanity.

Robert began firing at the thing, since his yithian mind was rendered safe against the things insanity-inducing properties.  However, the firing only increased the pitch and volume of the screaming bodies that the beast was composed of, further driving the group, who are up the stair well, insane.

Light and security repair the fabric of sanity.
