Is it possible to mod shield attacks?
« on: March 11, 2012, 02:12:46 am »

Hey guys. I wanted to mod an edge attack onto bucklers (as if they had a spike) to make them more viable. I was looking around in the raws for the ability to mod in shield attacks, but I didn't see one. Does anyone know if it's possible?

*FYI* I am incredibly new to modding. All of my previous attempts have failed pretty spectacularly. Please be patient with me lol. Thanks.

Unfortunately no, shields and armor do not accept weapon tokens as valid. Pity really, it would have been nice if I had been able to make those spiked gauntlets.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

You can mod them in as weapons. It's not like steel gauntlets make you better at punching.

But then would it still be possible to use them to block?
