In my time with DF, I've gone from an Omnipotent God-King of Everything who cares relatively little about dwarves, to an Omnipotent God-King of Everything who cares considerably more about dwarves.

df went on a strange mood and made me an embark with some dwarves, a brook with menacing spikes of skeletal carps, a savanna with hanging rings of zombie elephants, and with a sky adorned with bands of giant mosquitoes

I can't see a child in a game now without the urge to dismember it, then proceed to bash it's brains in.
Then of course put it into a blender and make a smoothie.
