Unarmed combat
« on: March 10, 2012, 01:34:16 pm »

I can't really find any information on the wiki, so I've got to ask here in hopes the someone knows.

What are the advantages of punching/kicking/scratching over each other? I know that biting lets you go all limb-tearingly crazy, but if I wanted a monk-type character, should I focus on only punching? Kicking? Mixture of both? Scratching their fingers off?

I'd appreciate if someone could give a more understandable explanation of using your body as a weapon.

Scrathing acts as "sharp weapon" and can cut off limbs, Kicking/Punching are like Warhaand great for smashing enemy bones to there brain..

Dwarves use their beards to influence the adamantite to change form. A dwarves beard is specialized in his job, therefore a legendary miner has a much better mining beard then a legendary weaponsmith, who has a beard that influences metals to make armor much more.
This also explains why dwarves can have a city on just a soap pillar, the beard of the soapmaking dwarf causes the soap to become rigid.

The best method is to get an arm cut off and beat them with it.

Wrestling and scratching. Scratching = Rip and Tear, and is seriously not what you'd expect it to be

When scratching, assume that your player has 3-inch-long talons. not fingernails.

My knowledge of unarmed (and missing-arm) combat has expanded. Thanks!

One last question, though: is punching or kicking more effective? Or, are they the same and I should just go for whichever one is more likely to hit?

They're pretty much the same

Oh.

Alright! Thanks for the help, everyone. I'll get back to being a legendary dodger that gets decapitated by a random flail of a swordsman.

Wrestling with an empty hand will allow you to take away an enemy's weapon.  Then you can throw it back at them.  Heck, you can wrestle them completely naked if you are so inclined.

And if you mod certain things, you can get a third grasping appendage so you can wrestle with two hands and still steal their weapons.

I remember once being frustrated that an enemy was too well-armored to attack successfully, so I used a free hand to wrestle off his helmet, then kicked his head in.

I fought a vampire once, but after several strikes to both arms and or hands i lost the ability to grasp. So my Shield and Silver mace were lost. We were both bleeding with blood trails following us, and every so often, id kick him in the head or lower legs. He bled to death XD Loss of Blood FTW!

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.
