This game seems a little too inspired by Dwarf Fortress. More like a copy.

Looks legit to me.  Might could do with a different species, but... chances are it'll play nothing like DF.  Compare: Dig Deeper and Dwarfs?! (available for viewing on Steam) which are clearly inspired by, but by no means play like DF.  Toady owns the scene.  A Game of Dwarves will never attain the same level of gore, complexity, and brutality against the player.

Looks more like Dungeon Keeper than Dwarf Fortress. Looks very much like Dungeon Keeper, actually... Are the publishers related to Bullfrog in any way?

Let's see....

"has definite gameplay goal"... DF: "goal? What's that!?"
"Has 3d graphics".... DF: "you have ascii, and *will* like it!"

Compare: tolkien dwarf trope, both games: "the dwarves dug too greedily and too deep, you know what they awakened in the darkness of moria..."

Verdict:  similar genre, similar concept... radically different games.

And this is about the fourth(?) game I've seen these forums flip out about; Minecraft, Dwarves!?, Towns, and now this. Yeah, they share a lot of things. Yeah, they were obviously (and often explictly) "inspired by" DF. So what? If people didn't reuse ideas they liked, we'd have exactly one game for every genre or subgenre.

*sigh* It seems like someone makes a new topic about this every other week. Here's what has been said sand ignored time and time again.

1. I admit I'm not very qualified on this subject, but others who are have stated that it is more like dungeon keeper than DF

2. All games have some similarities to some other games. It really isn't that big of a deal.
        2a. We do not have some sort of monopoly on Sims with Dwarves in them
        2b. Dwarves and building fortresses/dungeons does not a ripoff make

3. One of the Makers of this game did in fact register on Bay12 to consult with us for advice over in the topic for this in the Other Games section

4. Like with Minecraft depending on how this turns out, it may actually result in more people Being attracted to DF

I'm starting to think that we should add a section on this to the FAQ being nbuilt the Df General Discusssion board
