Torn artery and dehydration.
« on: March 09, 2012, 12:09:26 pm »

my adventurer got a torn left lower leg artery in a fight with a wolf pack, and ever since, he's been unable to quench his thirst. It started when I was resting in a fort while I healed: I got Thirsty, so I drank my water and refilled at the river in the morning. but I think it's bugged now. I am unable to quench my thirst, no matter how much I drink. Additionally, I no longer get any notification of being hungry. not dead yet, but I've spent days at a river, drinking, then resting for one hour, then drinking more with my thirsty notification getting closer and closer to dehydration. Right now it's at Thirsty!
this poor dwarf adventurer has no major injuries other some nerve damage in upper right arm and this torn artery in his lower left leg.

Bug?

Sounds like you're a vampire, my friend.

Maybe you drunk some vampire blood without noticing, or perhaps you've been cursed.

Whatever the case, wait until the evening, sneak into a town and [E]at up some blood, sucking it from a sleeping civilian.

Make sure you {S}neak before doing so, to prevent getting caught.

There should really be a hint saying that water does not quench your thirst. Also, vampires should not be able to eat, if I recall correctly, they vomit normal food.

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

For the sake of curiosity, can someone tell me how you'd get cursed and become a vamp?

Maybe you had some vampire blood splatters on you and it got into your wound. I think you can get it that way.

I'm referring to Raidmaster's comment on being "cursed" as an alternative means of becoming a vampire. In legends mode I've read about people being turned into vampires by being cursed by deities.... wondering if it is possible for PC's to become a vamp without actually drinking blood. Could you, for instance, earn the ire of some god and end up as a vamp?

Nope. It only happens during worldgen.

Looks like that poison wasn`t good for their eyes at all.
I never thought I'd say this, but Nietzsche is just adorable.
