For all of you who forget what your levers do, shift n lets you place notes.
I can't remember anything specific right now, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with leaving df unpaused.
Also, don't sieges automatically pause the game when they happen? How are you dying to that? I know ambushes do, but it doesn't matter because they're already killing things by the time that happens.

"Surely, there is no better training than stationing my axedwarf recruits in the outdoors refuse stockpile while an unseen necromancer roams about! I'm sure those wooden training axes will suffice, the caravan guards will help me out in a pinch."

Cue undead horse, cue undead dwarfs.

"Oh crap, the moat is frozen."

It was not exactly "Last Words", but certainly an unpleasant surprise.

When I just browse the forum now, the 5 headings that appeared in a row directly above this one, were all themselve Famous Last Words!  Made me laugh.  :)

1) Human appears and gives announcement

2) Soldiers refuse to equip helms/boots/gauntlets

3) Falling damage nerfed?

4) Dwarven Auto-Shotgun

5) Are crossbows still overpowered?

"I'll send my military after that bowgobbo, what can he do in that state? He's practically dead from bloodloss!"
Right as a swordsdwarf chops off his arm, he shoots the dude in the head, then crawls off the screen.

"N" places notes. I don't think it had anything to do with DF unpaused, but what you can do is scroll through notes/reminders.
