An ambush! Curse them!
...What are they doing in the meeting hall?

"Alright everyone, we've sealed off the entrance tunnel, so you can work on the roof of the Great Road safely."

"An ambush! Curse them! An ambush! Curse them! A thief has stolen Urist McMood's artifact! Urist McMood is tantruming! Rough ice bridge destroyed by Urist McMood."

Thankfully I managed to defeat the ambush and rebuild the ice bridge before a siege arrived.

Note: The end result was four hospitalized dwarves being tended by an apathetic jerkass who proceeded to pitch a fit. Him and his pickaxe were the cause of the fortress falling.
