English Translation: You're Working Too Hard!

I tried to catch everyone before they started modding in translations for the new words in language_WORDS, but it seems I didn't get through to those modding in english translations, because the mods I've downloaded have T_WORD's under Translation for common words.http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=100707.msg3017532#msg3017532

This is completely unneccessary! without T_WORD:ABBEY:abbey the game will still name creatures "Abbey" and say that there name is abbey! 

All that is neccessary is a language_ENGLISH file with the following:  NOT SPOILERED!
language_ENGLISH

[OBJECT:LANGUAGE]

[TRANSLATION:ENGLISH]

...and everyones name will show up as english words, I've tested it! Even before my previous post, and it still works with the latest release, and works with every mod I've played!

So what you say is: I create this empty english translation file, link a civ to it, and then it will display all names twice in english ?

As in: Urist McUrist "Dagger McDagger" will instead be Dagger McDagger "Dagger McDagger" ?

Yes exactly, I discovered this some time back when I generated a world in which I added more words than the original had with symbols for every sphere at the time, and the civs using exclusively the new symbols.  However I forgot to copy in the translations from DFLANG, and saw untranslated names all over the place.  I chose to use this to my advantage for Civs that spoke english.

I confirmed it still worked with 34.01 as soon as I downloaded it, because I was trying to save everyone the trouble of recreating their language_ENGLISH and language_EQUESTRIAN files for the new version. However If I can still save people the trouble of making translations for their custom words, I'll try to get the word out.

Nice find. Unfortunately I dont have any english speaking civs, and all the other names are translated to english anyway. It is handy, but I cant imagine that many people will find a use for it, unfortunately

There are a couple that do, Aspectus Lolin, and the My Little Pony Crew, along with at least another mod I think I know the name too, but don't want to risk the embarrassment of guessing wrong.  Also it's useful for a Modern to Future Earth setting where Place names at least might have an English name.

Plus in my Mods the shortcut of not translating the common words, are combined with translations for compound words that when combined with other compound words form names like Joseph, Jacob, Michael, Simon, and Alfred.  Which are also included in other languages as equivalent names.  However i've not completed it, because I'd originally assumed I could leave translations out of the other languages and found out differently.

Here's an example for Fanon is Magic, in which Ponies have english names despite language_DWARF being essentually empty.  It can also be used for other mods too, except Heart of the Swarm which crashes when I do this.

I've found that this doesn't work at all, so far. It just gives me empty strings.

Unless floating commas don't bother you like they do me, of course.
