I'm keen to start on my military, but all my migrants from the three waves seem to be married.  Is this the new trend?  Should I give up and draft husbands and risk small armies of miserable wives and children when a few stout dwarfs fall in battle?

* krenshala points at the username *  She ... is a good dwarf, but those things would be bad in our current meatspace civilization.  Thank Armok our dorfs don't live in our world.  We have enough troubles of our own with them here diggin' fer bluemetal.

[edit] almost forgot ... draft them anyway, as long as you set the children to an internal burrow you shouldn't have too many issues with active duty parents.  And who knows, you may end up with Urist McOrphan, that joins the military to get revenge on the whatever that slaughtered his or her parents.
