Have all your goblins except the one covered in ‼SCIENCE‼ close ALL the hatches- you'll gladly take your chances with whatever lies behind the wooden door. While you're doing that, have a goblin break down the door and lead the way- someone needs to "scout" for traps.
also, if you have a speargoblin, pierce whatever is looking back at you. then go in the door.

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

You caution the coughing goblin to stay away from your other troops. A spear goblin thrusts into the hole once, then quickly it is shut.

You hear a roar of pain, muffled by the wall.

You send another goblin to knock down the door. He bashes the door with his hammer, you see that attached to the doorknob was a contraption designed to thrust a dagger when the doorknob was turned. The "Urist" lever 'probably' unlocked the door and activated the trap.
A darkened room is ahead of you.

There are two visible levers, one reads 'istam' and another reads 't"sed arel'

Just try to come up with what to do. Whatever happens will happen.

Recall your whole squad, this means the goblin with the SCIENCE on him.

Search the room thoroughly. If no other details may be observed...

The scream was not at all dwarven, more like a large beast. You didn't recognize it.
You decide to pull both levers, Your goblins pull the levers.
The water stops flowing.
Hatches in the wall open to reveal torches, lighting the room.

Now that you can see clearly, there is a door at the end of the room. A sign is hanging on it saying "Nothing to see here. Please do not enter." It is locked, but there is a cage with a gorilla in it across the room. After trying to come up with how they got this gorrila, you notice that on closer inspection  there is an indent in the wood of the cage, inside of said indent there is a key, under the gorilla. Most likely the one to the door you need to enter.

The goblin covered in science coughs painfully, he wretches over, still conscious.

Gets the science-coated goblin to smear the science on the gorilla. Just to see what happens.

Better yet, toss him a dagger and tell him to fight it. If the dagger wont work, give him a spear or a sword.

He has no choice in the matter.

Oh, and keep a fair distance away. Cheer the Science Goblin on. It doesn't look like we want that stuff on the rest of us (which numbers to about 6, excluding the Science goblin right?)

Science gobbo + ape = Dead ape.

You know this science stuff is rather practical, cover less desirable goblins in it and have them scurry through dwarven tunnels..
