You lead the commander to the catacombs, he sees the dwarf and the barrels. He looks at you. "So, this is the place then?"
"It would probably be a good idea to get out of here."
"I agree, it seems we're over our head here, if they have barrels of this stuff, that means they have a lot more wealth than we knew about. Wealth means power, and power means unnecessary death for our kind. I am impressed though, you managed to get deep in here, kill a powerful dwarf. I'll make sure to recommend you for my next siege."
You both head back out, he orders the goblins to retreat and obtain the barrels.
The siege leaves the outpost, carrying the supply of barrels.
"We're heading to Lothak, it's the closest goblin city to our location, there we can store this and recuperate before we continue the campaign. You do remember what we're fighting for, don't you?"
"Yes, it's because of their expansion, correct?"
"Much more than that. You see, the dwarves have always been on bad terms with goblins. But, we never broke out war for this alone, even when they built outposts on our land, we just drove them off. What they did this time is unthinkable."
You try to think of something they did recently, but you cannot recall. "What?"
"They attempted to assassinate the king."
"What!?"
"It failed, but King Nebo is currently withdrawing from the outside world."
You sit silently for the rest of the ride.
(there actually was no forgotten beast in that fortress.)
Siege on Copper Hill, outpost- complete
_____________________________________________________________________________
You arrive at the city of Lothak. There are several guard towers stationed around the city, as well as a simple stone wall to protect it. When the First guard sees the army, he cheers and alerts the town that the army has returned, and they carry loot. As you enter, the goblins cheer you on from the side of the road, until you make it to the city hall. It is truly a grad place, pillars of marble lining the walls with grandeur and regality. The Lord residing in the city greets you personally.
"Welcome sirs. May I ask how the siege turned out?"
The commander steps up. "I believe I should discuss this with you, alone. This young goblin here, one of the general's sons, found quite some interesting things."
You nod, the lord looks at you, then back to the commander. They head to his office in order to discuss the events. It is in your best interest to read something, you can only get enough information from 1 book tonight, as you head out tomorrow. The library must certainly have something.
Inside the library it is lined neatly with books, but you head further, to a door in the back labelled 'dwarven readings.' Perfect.
In this room it is dark and unkempt. the books are in shelves, but appear as if they haven't been used in ages, perfect for finding this information. You search for books, and find these two.
"Forgotten Beasts" and
"The Shining Dragon"
