Like the first wave, battle soon began, but unlike them, this time they were less.
However, they were much more organized.
Some Ogres joined the fight!
This time the fight is much, much more bloody. The migrants don't stand a chance, because there are new zombies, the zombiegoblins, more vicious that the limbless dwarves the first wave encountered.
Meanwhile, in the lower fort, the ghosts are still battering the children, mainly removing their legs. I guess that Markedangels' future is going to need crutches.
One migrant killed a zombie! And the zombie's horse friend killed him a frame later.
It's a shame that he'll probably die.
Zombies vs Weremonsters. Meanwhile, the ogres are still trying to choke the zombies.
The werehyena left quickly. He was an elf, and after killing a kobold thief, he retreated.
The local militia is gaining new members. As children become peasants, they get drafted. The only system that works. One problem? two of them need crutches.
This is the only fort in which parties are welcomed. And also the fort in which the only guests are the party host, a fisherdwarf and a wounded farmer.
I heard the fisherdwarf brought a zombie piņata, that's the spirit!
On an unrelated note, I discovered that about 1/5 of our population is missing lower extremities.
At least we are defeating one of markedangels many enemies.
The terror is coming.
While taking a shower, a dwarf saw a creature unlike any other one: A huge cavy with horrible, lidless, flaming, terrible and scary eyes. It has a fat, bulging trunk that brings destruction upon otherwise calm fortress, and it is ravening, which means probably something related to death. Its rush hair is short and even, but it's still frightening, I guess. Beware is oh my god, poisonous gas!
However, we are not scared. It's common dwarf knowledge that forgotten beasts are incapable of dealing with wells. We just have to wait for it to leave. And here at markedangels, we are good at waiting.
And, I was right. It couldn't get in and went away.
That's just inevitable. I'm sorry goat.
It's amazing how we can't have a single stretch of peaceful time, I just want to build my zombienihilator (current status: 3 tunnels with severals bridges each, I want to try it small first...I suspecting it might be a tad dangerous). A dwarf went insane after being unable to find glass, as if we can trade... This is the first time our militia is called for duty. Let's see how they fare.
Good job, guys. Soon you'll be ready to face anything that stands in your way. Even zombies.
Please, don't tantrum spiral on me, dwarves. That's the only surprise left in here...
