HAHAHAH.... now I know where all the forts time & energy went into.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also, thanks Slowpoke, this is a complete cluster! And of course this is the busiest day of the week for me, so I unfortunately too will be a slowpoke. But I'm excited!

1st Slate 252
I stand up and push poor Chilton back in his seat. His fight for leadership wasn't steadfast. The poor ghost child always following him around has weakened his will, and he is physically exhausted doing all the work in this place. I place a wad of tabacky under my lip and review our situation.
Stocks:
No animals, check
No wood, check

Citizens:

Enemies:

I peek my head out a little bit and see the liaison running around screaming being chased by a wrestler zombie!

My review of the situation:
This is a cluster of zombie shit and plumphelmts.
Obviously we need more resources and citizens.
Due to the Elite Wrestler zombies! and me being the only warrior we have, I have determined we shall dig to the caverns below to gather more plants, and wood.
Eventually, we will need to allow safe passage into the fortress for migrants some-way soon though.

Yes! Dig into the Caverns with only one dude capable of defending You all against whatever creatures are down there!

You know that all those delicious sea-creatures isn't ours, right :P? It's the fisher-zombies who keeps fishing 'em up :-\

Also really nice transition over to the next overseeer :P, felt like you kept the story going so kudos to you.

But that one dude is the legendary general who spat in the face of Hfs and lived to tell about it :P

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Brewster I came up with a way to defeat fisher-zombies :o
    ^ <---hole with water
    O
    O <---floor
    D <---door
OOOOOOOOOOOO     <---random corridor

The fisherzombies will ignore your dwarf and run for the water-hole instead while they search for 'em fishy goodies you just lock the door. Fail-proof (only work on fisher-zombies though :P).
Oh, and don't fight the fisher-zombies head-on, I just saw a legless/armless/teethless/blind/-fisherzombie rip an ogre to pieces... ???

19th of Slate, 252:

Hit the caverns! Started gathering the web for cloth, the plants to eat, and wood for constructions! Glory praised to Armok, the first thing good to happen to us.

In other news the poor liaison got caught up in a cloud and is now snacking on his own foot.

20th of Slate, 252:

Migrants - Armok have mercy on them.
They came in droves. Everyone was running around nuts like. They were scaring most the zombies away, but the wrestlers did chase down the others, eventually they came inside
45 citizens total now - some MAY be outside running around still.

We unlocked the first front door and most of them ran inside for safety. Eventually we tore down the temporary wall and, waalaa, more citizens.

Argh!!! I wish I could join in on this :( Sounds really fun. I would be dorf'd if possible. Would join in on the years but I have a crappy internet connection, ~14kB/s max DL speeds most of the time...so yeah lol. Keep up the good work!

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.
