In Victoria.

Also, no spoilers, but the trade tunnel was finished without a hitch.

Currently 2nd of obsidian, not long to go! Someone quicker will be next I hope.

Aww.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Forgot to crop.
One of our children just had a bright idea. Seems that this shithole inspires people.

EEEEEEEEEK

Looks like we have a murder mystery on our hands.

WAS IT YOU!?

...ima slab (which i totally wrote as slap the first time) that guy.

Well that's totally usefull.

K, so what we'll do...

The miner goes on the right side of the bridge, we wall him in, he digs it, then goes to the other side, where the bridge is sealed.
Everythings ready to go..

FUCK NO YOU AREN'T

Shit, some idiot walled himself in, and I dont have time to fix it.

Well. Here goes.

RUUUUUUUUUN

SHUDDUFUQUP KID SRS SHIT RIGHT NOW

PULL THE FUCKING LEVER.

Safe and fucking sound.

Also, to the next guy, make sure you lock the door on the same floor as the trade depot while you seal it back up.
To let immigrants in, put them in the burrow "Immigrants" then pull the lever, which opens the outer gate and closes the inner.
Then, when its open put them in "Immigrants part 2" before pulling the lever again and unlocking the door.

Fuck off.

Aaaand half of them charge for that poor bunny.

Holy shit thats a harpy.

Fuck me, I build a tunnel for immigrants and traders and NOW NONE OF THEM WILL GET HERE BECAUSE ALMOST 100 GOBLINS. HALF OF WHICH ARE BOWGOBLINS.
Sucks to be you, Felcis.

Heh, because of low FPS i can see arrows flying around really slow, so the battles look cool.

That was at like, 70 before the siege.

AND THEN NOTHING HAPPENED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. YAY.

That was an awesome turn in the end, Good Sir :D

And yeah, even if the Goblins werent there, the Undead Legion would be scaring folks.
Good work, anyway.
You did something really productive!

Good Luck, Felcis!

Bowgoblins? Aww, there goes any justification for using crossbows until after they leave. If I were my dwarf, wouldn't stop me from trying anyways, but I expect to be shushed by everyone.

But once they leave...

By the way - considering that it's quite a few turns until I get in, why not dorf me as the oldest kid?

Did some testing in adventure mode for fighting against zombies. I found you should NOT use sharp weapons due to the parts flying off becoming zombies themselves. My character is a lasher/hammerer. The hammer did a bit better for killing. Arrows are absolutely useless (sorry). This was tested against a mummy in a tomb.

In contrast, an axe trap did prety good in killing the hand over and over again.

What was REALLY fun was when I had to fight a zombified god. (Epic fight btw)

Really? That sucks... My Fortress experience differs, though - I had an area tormented by a Necromancer, and the various undead dwarves/beasts/goblins died swiftly to my wooden-crossbow-wooden-bolts brigade of 3. I only lost when the necromancer made it to my Fishery and reanimated SO MANY MUSSEL SHELLS that my dwarves were overwhelmed. Mussel shells couldnt hurt anyone, but they absorbed the damage.

EDIT: But it sounds like I may have to rethink my future career :P Maybe a Hammerdwarf or an Armorsmith...
