Z-levels/no ramp
« on: March 04, 2012, 03:00:14 pm »

Is it possible to move down z-levels without a ramp, like jumping down? Not falling, or getting pushed, but of your own will jumping in fortress mode? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I though I heard someone mention it's possible before. Just curious. Thanks ^^

The only time fortress mode dwarves will jump down a hole is if they're dodging an attack and dodge wrong (they don't check their footing before moving)

You can also push them down with water, or drop them with a trapdoor (i.e. floor grate or floor hatch attached to a lever).

Otherwise, you're going to need a ramp or stairs.
