Glarg!
It was dumb and shortsighted of me to try and make the interface of a text editor like DF.
The plus, minus, divide, multiply scrolling that I am using is incompatible with text input.
When you push plus, it writes "+" and goes to a new line. Duh!
I am a moron.
broken keys= + - * /
So, my question is:
1)Do away with it
2)have it be multikey: shift+, shift- ect
4)Give me a better key suggestion (eg, shift-Down)
3)Have an edit mode and view mode (seems unnecessarily clunky)

-The arrow keys are used to move the text prompt cursor (the same as any text editor).

No Mouse control?

also using the CTRL-(+,-,/,*) Should work. Shift would simply write the symbol up (UPPERCASE)

Having a edit/view mode isn't clunky but it is unintuitive ( :-X like vim :-\) so you'd need a readme file at least. Or some way to have the most useful keys displayed on-screen.

CTRL is what I was thinking as well, it just that shift is closer to the numpad. How the program looks at key presses is; if the shift key is pressed (for example) it then looks at a list of other keys I have it coded to look at. Its not looking for the shift+[other key] as it would traditionally, to get a capital letter lets say. Its looking for shift to be held, and another key to be pressed. There is no shift[plus] or shift[-] anyway, they need to be shifted from a number, or they are a non-shiftable key on the numpad. All that being said, you are correct in CTRL, as I might be overlooking something else with shift. CTRL is the way of the future!

Unintuitive indeed. I'll think of somthing.

Thanks guys!
