FORTRESSES
1. The Pit of Depth – 301-306 – A human settlement several days travel from any others, nestled between the Permanent Forest and a mountain range. It was founded by the Glacial Coalition of The Glittery Nation. The settlement is well-known and named for its design; a massive, artificial open pit a kilometer across, and 16 stories deep. It can be accessed from the north via a large glumprong building housing some domestic structures and a single staircase leading into the pit. At the bottom are many structures built from the quarried stone. Some of these buildings are several stories tall and rather impressive on their own. In the center of the city is a massive dome housing a communal dining and meeting hall. The city has experienced much civil unrest since 306, with no official, stable government remaining, and no outside parties attempting to take control, and it is thus considered to be in ruins despite having many living residents. The populace, despite having no currently active military or guard, is still rather wealthy, and many valuable goods can be acquired within, including quality food and drink and copper military equipment. It boasts little art besides the goods produced by it’s various highly-skilled craftsmen, including mason Unir Cobarnadmi. There are no other noteworthy stone quarries, mines, or structures apparent besides the settlement in the pit. It is swamped in wooden logs, and a profit could be turned by the cunning merchant.
