Since we can cut rocks now...

Wouldn't cut native gold be a REALLY good idea?

Yes.  Especially since every fort I've had since the .34 update has been SWIMMING in native gold.  In my last fort pretty much everything in the fortress was studded with gold AND decorated in native gold gems.

Would I be able to cut it after smelting it into a bar?

Is it a stone after you smelt it into a bar?

I wonder if candy counts as a stone...

It does.  I've not cut candy yet, but I've built roads with raw candy.  It's used as a stone in all instances and will work in a gem cutter's shop as well.  This can be especially amazing because a cut candy and a bar of candy have the same value (gem and bar have value of 5).  So you can effectively double your decoration value.  However, you generally won't be decorating anything with candy.

Unless you're that guy that posted last week or so with the embark that had, what, 14,000 candy?

... ascit? Any definitive value on slade cabochons? Do they still weight unholy amounts?

Also, value?

An item menacing with spikes of slade would be neat.

Do all gem windows change color in unison? I just had epic idea.

EDIT: Hint: It has to do with now being able to create gem windows in every color, and all the windows changing in unison. A 40x40 solid level of window.

How many total gems can you put in one window? I guess that's how many frames you can make.
