Any way to have "good" interactions?
« on: March 01, 2012, 11:54:28 am »

It would be nice to be able to have healing, for example, or the ability to enhance a skill, but all of the possible spell effects seem to be bad. Great for a deadly war wizard or evil fiend, but what about the good guys?

You can buff people, but you cannot heal without healing completely.

Just increase the stat alterations of syndromes above 100%.

There's plenty of ways to have "good magic".

For example, the "werecurse" template allows you to turn anything into anything else. For example, I'm working on coding in a booze that turns dwarves into dragons.

In addition, you could use the vampire curse template to transform a dwarf's stats any way you like. Here's the syndrome text:

Removing the Bloodsucker, Sterile, and NO_PHYS_ATT_GAIN would create a "curse" that you could transmit via booze that would make your dwarves into creatures that had all the advantages of a vampire, but without the need to drink blood, and they could still breed and gain stats. The "[CE_PHYS_ATT_CHANGE:STRENGTH:200:0:AGILITY:200:0:TOUGHNESS:200:0:START:0]" tag means that the creature that gains this template becomes much stronger, quicker, and tougher, which is certainly what you're looking for.

I think there's a way to induce skill gain as well.  Not entirely sure how but seems feasible.  At the very least, could buff your stats like strength and stuff.

Also Hugo, you may want to change your avatar.  It's not exactly the friendliest.

You could add good tags like NO_FEVERS or NO_PAIN.

You could make them grow by messing with the body appearance multipliers.
