Vanigo: What happens to my undefended city if his unit gains initiative with moving to it while my armies are returning? What happens if one of my armies wins initiative, while the other goes last? What happens if I order two different armies to attack the same city, would they attack in waves?
If your army gets there first it'll be the defender and get any wall bonuses. If his army gets there first it'll be the defender but won't get any wall bonuses. Multiple armies going for the same city will attack in waves, even if they started from the same tile.

What happens to the population of a city that gets occupied by multiple people in the same turn?

(You do know you're not going to conquer that hill tile just by not moving, right?)
I remembered about fifteen minutes after posting. Oops.

Azthor, that's a very interesting turn.
A) You broke something, and it won't load in the admin interface.
B) I don't believe you would have left your city undefended and moved your army there unless you knew I would both leave New Gettysburg undefended and not attack you this turn. If you're going over my turns before deciding on yours, I'll just PM my actions to Vanigo in the future.

Edit: Or I could just PM this turn to Vanigo. That works. I might or might not change it from what it was.

What I did is rather straightforward, as, assuming you did not know where I was moving, that was the single best strategy availiable. In fact, so good a move it is that, even though you read up on my turn in a mockery of your very accusations, I won't be changing it.

While it is weird that my turn doesn't load properly on the admin interface, that is bound to be an input error; I did manually edit the turn, but it was done simply out of laziness. All the actions within should be fully valid.

You deleted a rather important <armyorders>.

Thank you, that ought to explain it, I will post a fixed version. Could you give us a sample of how a battle between two spearmen would play out in an open field?

Sorry for the delay in my turn.
Just wasn't sure how to raise my pop, and didn't really want to bother asking.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

You could use the admin interface to set up any sort of battle you want to try, you know.

In that case I apologize. It will be quite interesting to see where this plan of yours leads.

In fact, so good a move it is that, even though you read up on my turn in a mockery of your very accusations, I won't be changing it.
I didn't complain about reading turns after finalizing them. I was trying to load up your turn to try to visually see what you were planning, and so prepare for my next move.

To end the suspense, since we're still waiting on Quinnr's turn: You called my bluff. I didn't change my turn, aside from the conquest order mistake.

Edit: Vanigo, could you tell us about future changes, especially after implying that things wouldn't work that way? I was making plans on the assumption that newly built units didn't get to defend their city. That they can defend changes my plans a bit.

Uh, this was always the case, as long as you built them the same turn that an enemy army moves in. I set things up so that you can't build a unit after the enemy moves in and on the same turn they presumably intend to conquer, but unit construction has always occurred before army movement and combat.

I think the only changes currently in the works that will affect you are new content, and changing stables to use 2 horses instead of 1 stone. I haven't released these changes mostly because I don't want the latter to screw anyone over. (Not using horses didn't seem to make much sense.)

You know, I'd better figure out what happens if you build a unit while a hostile army is at the gates. As it stands, I'm pretty sure it'll break the game.
This confused me.

Turn PMed, as I'm now needlessly paranoid.

Trust me on this, if you knew what they were, you'd actually want them to be carried out. I quite much created a trap that'd damn you if you were to base your PMed turn on my public turn. As you did not, in fact, exploit such knowledge, you'd have been left in a possibly advantageous position. More importantly, it was also act as a test of character; given your honesty, it should suffice to say that I do not believe I will have to PM any of my turns from here onwards.

Please, accept my apologies, I am paranoid like that when it comes to war games.
