Let the priests work out the religion bit, as long as nobody dies.  Meanwhile, convince them that you should get input on public statements about MOA MOA, considering the dream came to US, not them.  WE are the chief, the one chosen by MOA MOA to lead our people to greatness, not the priests.
EDIT:  Oh yeah, also, send some guys out to look for copper lying around.
(Before you object, that actually did happen.  There used to be places full of small chunks of native copper ore lying around.  The first metal tools were made from that.)
EDIT EDIT:  DERP, almost forgot.  Make some real bricks with the kiln.
  You decide to allow the priests to decide the fate of the heratic. They decide that execution is called for, and sacrifice him in MOA MOAs name. The tribe gathers to watch the man be slit open with a bone knife, and they all cheer as he dies screaming. Of particular note is a child who seems quite enamored with the priests who shoves his way to the front and paints his face with the mans blood. MOA MOA does not respond.

  Following the execution, you send some men out to look for native metals, the hardest they can find. After a few days of searching, they return with a small pile of ores for copper, silver, and even some gold. However, the copper refuses to melt in the kiln. The gold is worked into a exceptionally sharp blade, however. The silver proves too difficult to work at the moment and is lost.

You are already making bricks with the kiln!

Tell the wise men to study FARMING! The sooner we run under our own food source, the better!
You ask your wise men to study the growth of plants, and to see how it may be adapted to better suit your growing population. They exit your hut discussing how they might convince plants to grow nearer to the tribe.
Better yet, tell the woodsman to bring back berries and seeds, and put them in the ground over the year. Eventually we'll get some sprouts!
One wise man suggests placing berries into the ground. The others are skeptical, but a firm voice convinces them to experiment.

Craft some of the "Boats" and use them for fishing.

Build a stronger wall against the south.

You order your people to use the new watercraft to fish in deeper waters. The fishermen bring back a large bounty of huge fish as a result. This will certainly help feed your tribe!

You order the construction of a palisade, and with the fresh wood your woodsmen have been bringing in you manage to complete it. Your village is now protected from the water, and has spaces to the west and east for transit, although only the western one is used.

Tell the wise men to look for a way to preserve food.
You grab a few of your wise men and give them an alternate assignment; You wish them to examine ways to preserve foods for longer. They stroke their beards thoughtfully, save for the one wise man without a beard, who simply scratches his head.

Build huts for the married. We must reward those who are building our population.
You order the contruction of more huts, and closer together. Married couples, you decree, will be given a hut to themselves as a reward. This brings you support from the married couples, but the elderly of the tribe are not so happy to be losing their best means of support. Previously, a family would stay in one hut, with each younger generation supporting the older.

Three children are born.
Two marraiges take place.

Pollen is floating from the north, across the water.
There is an abundance of fish in the water.
The heretic has been executed.


Random event!
The recent invention of watercraft has prompted a group of children to steal one and take it for a joyride. They begin to sail around the southern shore of the island, hoping to discover something. What they discover is that the ground grows rocky and black, the trees are covered in soot, and a incredibly huge spire of rock stretches into the sky, scraping the clouds. Your people are shocked to find that stone can grow so large.

I take it the children returned and reported back?  Punish them by having their parents flayed.  Not too much, just to drive the message home.


Ask the priests to communicate with MOA MOA and ask about the great fire-spewing rock.  If they can't do it, use this as a legitimate reason to despose them and assume spiritual leadership of the tribe.

Yeah, send some scouts, with the single warrior we have, on the boat, and investigate the fire-spewing rock.  Give them enough supplies to survive there for a few days, and the tools and lumber necessary to build a boat in case the current one gets destroyed.

I'm a bit concerned about sending our only warrior to a volcano. Perhaps just the scouts?

 You ask the priests to commune with MOA MOA about the great fire spewing rock. They say they will need time to speak with MOA MOA, which you give them.

 In the meantime, you send some scouts to investigate. You debate sending your only warrior, but in the end he's too valuable.

Train up warriors while they're on the expedition?  To guard the home village of the Aptasi. 
You also tell him to begin to train others, which he does happily. The new warriors are chosen from the most powerful and strong unemployed, and begin training the next day.

More warriors created.

Don't flay the parents.  That would be overkill.
The children and their parents await a verdict on the punishment, for theft of Government property. You stand at a huge crossroads for the Aptasi, so choose carefully.

Don't punish the children, nor the parents. What they used belonged to the community, as everything else. Everything should be useable by the community, which will be led by the state. The state will care for and nourish it's citizens, and therefore is the owner of everything and will divide it  equally between it's citizens. ( Divided and equally are relative)

Agreed that there shouldn't be a severe punishment for children being children. Perhaps some time tending our nascent gardens, or cleaning up around the village, but let's not get too wild.
