Isle: Liberación! Liberación! La tecnocracia ha llegado!
« on: February 29, 2012, 07:55:41 pm »

Your people have lived here for millenia...

Sit, please, and allow your old great-grandmother to tell the tale of the people, of this island. Our story begins long, long ago, when your ancestors first began to build great monuments, and learning became imprtant
...

The year is 500 B.C. Your people have lived here for years, since the dawn of time. The waters to the east and the west, the north and the south, stretch on and on forever, to the edge of your world. So it has been taught for years.

You have been crowned Leader of your great tribe. They await you, outside, to give a name for your people to be united under. A name for the tribe that rules the world. They are depending upon you, the great Maku Maku, to lead them to prosperity. You will face many hardships, and there is far more beyond your shores than your realize. You have a daunting task ahead of you, full of great triumph...

  ...And great defeat.

The history of your tribe begins today, with a name! What will your great people be called? What are your first orders?

Food Stockpiles have been set to GOOD
Wood Stockpiles have been set to GOOD
Stone Stockpiles have been set to GOOD
Morale has been set to HIGH

Danger Level has been set to WILD
Population has been set to LOW
Metal Stockpiles have been set to EMPTY
Weapons Stockpiles have been set to LOW

You have no foes to speak of.
There are many forests nearby
There are many Ores nearby
There are many soft stones nearby
There are many animals nearby

There is a forest to the west.
There is an ocean to the east.
There is an bay to the north.
There is an ocean to the south.
There is a plume of smoke to the west.
Pollen floats from the north.
The ocean is full of seaweed.

There are dangerous predators about.
You have no witchdoctor.
You have no carpenters.
You have no hunters.
You have no woodsmen.
You have no warriors.
You have no miners.
You have no tools.
You have no toolmakers.
You have many Tribesmen.
You lack technology.

Your tribe is called the Aptasi, in english translated human. (Yes, this is simple, but it's fine.)

What is the status of the settlement?
... Do we have a settlement?

The people cheer your name. "Aptasi!" they cry, tossing gathered flowers into the air. A fitting name, for you rule all the humans of the world.

Your village has five huts and a block for a butcher to slice the kill from the hunt. There is enough space for several more people, and a new space is being cleared already for the next hut. You suspect that buildings will be built and altered without your specification unless you directly order it.

The people await your orders. They require jobs!

Your people are unemployed!

Hmm...

They should make simple weapons out of stone and wood... (Clubs, hammers, spears, such things)

One of our strongest tribesmen should begin training with what weapons we do have.

If there is any clay around, we could make a kiln, which would let us make bricks.

Send some villagers to the sea to just look for anything of interest.

...Soon, we will rule the waves. Soon.

Hmm...

They should make simple weapons out of stone and wood... (Clubs, hammers, spears, such things)
You designate some tribesmen as Toolmakers! They begin to make tools!

Buildings unlocked: Hut, Fire Pit, Longhouse, Palisade, Carpentry workshop, Stoneworkers Workshop, Totem
Several Tribesmen disbanded
Several Tollmakers have been formed.

Your toolmakers are unskilled!

And they should be fruitful and multiply... So says Maku Maku.
Despite your attempts to initate an orgy, your people remain resistant to the idea of free love. Monogamy is part of your culture, and love does not bow to your whims! Your people will multiply on their own time.

One of our strongest tribesmen should begin training with what weapons we do have.
Warrior formed!
Tribesman disbanded.

If there is any clay around, we could make a kiln, which would let us make bricks.
Showing stunning forethought, you attempt to build a kiln! Unfortunately, your people are not used to working with clay and stone, and it collapses. More experience with stonework should give your tribe a better chance at building a kiln, perhaps?

You gain a small boost to your stoneworking skill.
You have failed to construct a kiln.

Send some villagers to the sea to just look for anything of interest.

...Soon, we will rule the waves. Soon.
You send a scouting party out to the shoreline, to the north. They are gone a long while...

...

...And they return with a bounty of fish! They also obtain beautiful shells, which they use too woo the women of the tribe. Three men get married!

Marriage has begun. The tribe is now reproducing: SLOWLY
Marriage has begun. The population is growing! More people are a drain on food!

RANDOM EVENT!

The men report larger than usual waves at the beach!

RANDOM EVENT!

A cult has begun worshipping animals of the forest. Special attention is paid to the Hawk god!

Building unlocked: Shrine

As a long term goal, let us start researching seafaring skills like Whisper said. Starting from the lowly canoe, and grappling our way up the sea tech tree to a regular ship...

Institute tribe-wide festival nights where young men and women can meet, talk, and dance. Tell tales of how the Hawk God has told Maku Maku that he smiles on those who wed.

I'm thinking about how we could utilize the ominously larger waves.

Attempt to build a raft (canoe probably too good for our villagers to make just yet)? Fishing and seaweed collecting :D

How are we in terms of housing?

In the mean time I propose we build palisades near the bay out of some clay/soft stones. I reckon the village wouldn't fare well against a tsunami unprotected :P

Build up a clay wall, somewhere between the sea and the town, but not too close. Preferably on the top of the beach hill, if there is one.

Observe a log floating and make a canoe.
