Don't punish the children, nor the parents. What they used belonged to the community, as everything else. Everything should be useable by the community, which will be led by the state. The state will care for and nourish it's citizens, and therefore is the owner of everything and will divide it  equally between it's citizens. ( Divided and equally are relative)

Agreed that there shouldn't be a severe punishment for children being children. Perhaps some time tending our nascent gardens, or cleaning up around the village, but let's not get too wild.
They used something from the community, so they should work for the community to repay their debt. ( Go communism)

Communism will only work if we stay on a small people.  To use it would hamper our tribe's rise to power.  Do community service or something.  They're just kids.

Are there still dangerous predators around? If so send some hunters out to cull them and sacrifice the biggest to Moa Moa.

Yeah, we need to depose those priests, they're getting rather powerful.  But to depose them, we need firm control of the warriors. 

Arm the warriors with whatever metal weaponry we eventually make/find.  Promise the warriors that when they hunt, each will get a small portion of the food, as a payment.  This will make them "wealthier" than most, over time, and hopefully they'll be grateful.  If not, we'll deal with it, maybe through a few "accidents".  So yeah, also don't let the priests get too much political power.

Could we frame one or two of the priests for believing in the earth-fire-void thing in order to have them executed by the others? Or do you guys thing it would be too much of a risk?

That sort of thing would create quite a bit of pandemonium.  The priests would probably suspect something.  We need a strong military, and to have them in our control, along with the normal tribesmen and workers.  THEN we can systematically take out the priesthood.

Even if we blame the lack of feasting on the priests, that won't be enough to have the people or warriors side with us completely.  We need a larger, more profound excuse.

I'd like to point out that most traditions of sacrifice are that the gods get the burnt bits of the animal, and the people get to eat what's left over.

Also, do we have bows and arrows? If not work on that.
