THE REST A YALLS BUMLY FELLAS. Just for clarification purposes, there are about 1000 or so Terrible Children active in the fortress. And they are not children. They are soldiers, very well trained and equiped at that.
------------------------------------
Erist attepmts to open the door only to have a strange bestial face with pointed ears and a upturned nose shake its head at him, All other attempts at the door are to no avail and the face just continue to shake its head at him untill...

Solotharn and Alexandra make their way through the fortress. And get lost, alot. Alot alot. The wide winding halls of the ancient fortress arnt to friendly the newcomers and there isnt a abundance of signs that say "Nemo's Office This Way!" but luckily some of the servants making their rounds point you in the right direction. That and as the pair get closer a loud thudding pair of footsteps is hear behind the two. And it grows, louder, and louder until it catches up with them.

"Nemo?"

A large man leans it to examine the two, he has a mane of white hair and a matching beard that is barely contained to his face but he doesnt appear old, battle-tested with a handful of scars but not old. He stands roughly six feet tall and is wearing a white fur lined uniform that seems more accustomed for the northern front.

"Not Nemo." He shakes his head to himself, but then brightens "You are zenew blood yes? Many welcomes to the Shield, I am Velk, our local survival expert and handler of fauna." He extends a hand that delivers are crushing handshake "You are looking for Nemo much like I am yes? Of Course, He handles the information and assignments around here most of ze time but he always manages to squirrel himself away like ze little rat he is."
Velk shakes his head in digust before continuing "But I would lead you to Nemo's study nonetheless.

And Velk does, filling the jaunt with friendly chatter he encounters Erist and offers him a similar introduction. Velk shoots the door a rather mean look and the Door concedes to him and swings open to Nemos study, a large wood paneled room with comfortable couches and books nearly everywhere. It smells of rosemary and tobacco. And look! There is even a old man to match, He is seated on a rocking chair in the corner of the room reading the popular novella "What would I do if I had Forgotten." He seems rather comfortable and is wearing a brightly printed floral shirt. Next to him is a plain sheath with a plain looking hilt sticking out of it. He looks up from his reading

"Why..Hello there!"

The old man dog-ears the corner of the book and gets up slowly, using the sword as a cane he makes his way over to the four.  Velk looks embarrased.

"Vic?! So-Sorry for barging in like dis. These are ze Fresh Bloods, I had come back from ze assignment and..and.."

"Is nothin..Really. I know." He smiles up at Velk. "I had sent Nemo off with Galuzin to do some prep work fer me. No biggie...I'll handle yer debriefing. Yup. Ol' Vic's got it.....So Freshies. Any questions fer Ol' Vic before we get down doin some actual work?"

Erist squinted one eye at the man, taking the cigar from his mouth with a be-steeled hand to tap ash on the floor. "Yer lucky this 'ere fella found me, Vic, 'r I was gonna show the door me ax."

The dwarf shakes his head, chomping down on the cigar once more and puffing smoke before continuing. "Anywho, ah jest wanna know what yeh want me t' do, so I c'n feckin' do eht. You humies do a piss-poor job o' that, y'know. S'posed to 'ave someone ready t' debrief us right when we ge' off."

Ceilen nodded after taking down the notes in her book. She turned around to look at the car to see if anyone was still inside, and to her surprise there was none but the occasional soldier passing by. Remembering what the chauffeur told her earlier, she decides to head through the most obvious and non-lethal way -the front door.

Ceilen enters without much issue into the marble tiled hall where she is greeted by a pair of Fae wearing clean cut black suits. Their eyes concealed under dark glasses, one of them opens their mouth to drone at her

"Vicram had told us to lead you to Nemo's Study. For Briefing Purposes. Nemo is unavailable for the moment."

And with that he spins with a military parade click to lead her down the winding halls to the study. He remains silent for the duration of the jaunt, ocassionally exhanging terse greetings with the other soldiers walking the halls. Then as the pair walk past a intersection they are joined by a person who is dressed like a bandit, with a wide hat and poncho, a single piece of cloth with a skull printed on it nearly obscures the entirety of his face with the exception of a eye. He greets himself by glancing at the suited Fae and nods slightly at Ceilen. Great. More creepy silence until you make it to the study. The door seems to fly open for Mr.Bandito and as Ceilen the study the suit wearing Fae spook seems to have disappeared.

Vic introduces himself first in a kindly grandpa fashion
"Hiya. I'm Vic. you must be...Wait..Lemme get it...Ceilen. Right..Oh Trey! Wait over there for a moment while I do soma the greeting stuff Nemo deals with. Can ya do that for me?"

The Bandito,Trey, takes a seat on a couch on the far end of the room. He seems to be staring at everyone in the room with his one uncovered eye.

Velk moves to the other side of the room without a word and starts to flip through some dossiers.

Vic smiles again. Looking to Solotharn.

"Thats a good question...Solotharn? Yeah Thats it..You've been called as initiate members of Meln Shield. Kinda like the the Prince's personal honor guard or somethin like that? Technically we were established as a personal army of the Prince, Completely inda'pendent a the generals and poltics...But we dont see much action on the front, the army has developed to the point that the Prince dont need ta be leadin every charge. But what we do is deal wid more internal issues and tha protection a the Royal family but we mostla deal with 'ickle Prince Tristen. Loike fer example..Trey had just investigated a potential covent a Witches that had some anti-royalist sentiments..Didnt'ja Trey?"

"Although if thins get realla bad we can deploy a decent an self suffiecent force, although that wos only back in the day."

Vic looks back to Trey. Trey nods slowly and Vic looks back to Solotharn "Hope thats the answer ya wanted."

Vic then walks over to Erist and shrugs

"Eh yer right. Tha door can just be a bit of an ass ta people he doesnt know, Nemo had that bloke sealed in there for an awful long time...Welp, Lets git down ta buissness because yer obviously in a hurry."

The old man cracks his knuckles loudly before continuing, He seems to lose some of the silly grandfather disposition and replace it with that of a more serious grandfather or a lecturer."

"I'm assuming ya just listened to my big ol talk to Solo because I'm just getting straight into tha muck of it. Soma of our spooks in Ragynl had picked up some vibrations that they are sneaking some guns over here to arm some folks who we dont really want ta see armed, Even a few well armed cells can cause us some trouble that we dun really want, So we want'cha to head over there with some of the Children and make sure that this shipment doesnt sneak its way over here...Thats tha rough and short. The more formal version is in ona the dossiers over there on the table but I'll field ana questions ya got."

Erist exhaled a plume of smoke, and then slid his axe into the sheathe on his back before taking up a dossier. "Nah, that'll be all. Yeh know where they put me cycle? Donnae e'en matter if ah need it fer this, ah like t' know where mah baby is."

Ceilen decided to go over and peruse those dossiers, but she had something else at mind currently.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but why exactly don't we want to see them armed again? Those people are against us, and our goal is to prevent anything from...civil war happening? Do we have the choice to disrupt and not kill anyone or are negotiations out of the bag?"

Ol'Vic scoops up a dossier and settles into a armchair in the corner of the room occasionally flicking through papers.

"Well we dont want ta see these uh..Huctree Brigade armed fer acoupla reasons, One it puts a armed cell behind our lines and our boys are gittin shot plenty, We wont be doin them any favors by letting them get shot at in the back. Alsa it opens up a route where Ragynillian spooks can creep behind our lines and cause all sortsa michief. Finalla we want to plug this hole before it gets sprung savvy?

Now our spooks tell us the uh..Hucktree’s don’t have enough men ta do a ton of damage on their own, its just the spooks Ragynll would move through them and the shipment that would cause us tha real trouble because no one likes ta see trained spooks behind some angry peasants. Ta answer your question that would actualla be the prefable route for ya’s ta take. Because when awhole bunch of peasants with anti-government sentiment it turns inta a press nightmare and our spooks cant keep that stuff on the down-low for long. What would realla look favorable fer us would be a nice coordinated sting that puts everyway away and serves as a nice lil rallyin call at the recruitin office.

But tha’s easier done than said. Oh, and as fer talkin the Huctree’s outta of it..Ta be fair they haven’t appeared on our radar until now and we only have a few weeks until the shipment moves out, that isn’t any time for any of our formal boys to talk these cranks outta of it. And ta be fair, I know these seems loike a job fer the constables but we don’t have tha time for it to move through their channels, plus we aint quite sure about who all their paymasters are if you catch my drift.”

Vic then turns to Erist in his chair as he sets the papers down on his lap again
“Oh Erist, yer bike is down in the motorbay, real beut that thing is, You can ride out ta this op but ta be fair it’s a bit far, You’ll be headed out west near the font a little hamlet by the name a Hangerford.”

Erist puffed up his chest and favored Vic with a beaming smile. "Aye, isn't she?" he replied, suddenly forgetting the task at hand. He tapped ash from his cigar once more. "D'ye ride a' all?"
