Several experiments concluded that masterpiece destruction /artifact destruction is less effective if the crafter has lots of masterworks floating around than other forms of bad thoughts, like having pets die and rot.

You can induce tantrums far faster with trained hunting animals and the atom smasher, with a considerably smaller dent in total networth.

Also that iron throne sounds badass. Also has a cool name. Make it so your strongest military can sit on it, and put it on a mountain of skulls, or reserve it for the blood god.

Spears are the wrong color for artifacts.  They are simply named weapons.  IIRC, dwarves will get the same bonus to attack rolls that artifacts get with them.

I am not sure if they stay named when dropped, I think so.  If they get the same bonuses as artifacts then that is sweet, TIL!.  None of the steel spears are actually crafted artifacts.  Some are masterfully crafted (in fact a lot are).  They are just steel spears that my military have grown attached to.
