Actually that happens commonly when a brook is frozen, at least to me.  Doesn't occur with rivers or pools, but brooks are weird.

I think it's because brooks have a "floor" over the top of them.

It's a dwarf.  Their natural habitat is "trapped on the wrong side of a wall".

Flinging children halfway across the map to land in magma is good, wholesome fun, but extramarital reproduction?  Why, that's just unseemly!

That's how they look for me, figured it was just the way the pack handled it. Considering how on the world map, fortress's and towns look like chests and other objects.

... Oh.

Ya, I noticed in .31 a particular type of wood was the same as a lever in the off position, got a tickle out of that, too. Couldn't figure out why my dwarf was carrying a lever from the trade depot:p

Side Q, since I have an active thread and all...

Is there ever a reason to flood a farm area again? Got my plots placed, but for the life of me, I can't think of any reason to keep the pump built there.

Second Q, just realized I embarked with no goblin civ nearby; does this mean no siege/ambush? From them anyway...
