In Oblivion, NPCs will occasionally mention that the Great House Redoran of Morrowind is under attack by Nordic and Orcish mercenaries from Skyrim. It is also mentioned that the town of Ald'ruhn was entirely destroyed by the Daedra during their invasion of Tamriel.

(Ie. My hometown, was slaughtered. And I'm older than you pal. I was there for the Nerevarine prophecy coming to fruition.)

Uria undoes the clasp on her helmet setting it in her satchel and walking into the barracks. There she digs through a chest and picks out a a shawl, a cloak, and a fur shirt. These Skyrim fashions are appaling Uria thinks. Uria throws all of it on and ends up looking like a common serf, minus the dirt. In the gettup Uria waits near the door for anybody to make up their mind.

I will only allow 50 of the stormcloaks septims to be spent on whatever. And none of that snake oil dreck you brought back last time." (Don't want to piss off the GM and all)
