For some reason I've always been picky about how dwarves look, for instance when playing Dragon Age Origins I never thought they looked quite right. However, for whatever reason I do think some of the dwarves from the new Hobbit movie look just about right, mainly the odder looking ones as the characters Thorin, Kili, and Fili look a little too human still. I basically picture my dwarves as the same as Terry Pratchetts. The aversion to short jokes and the love of alcohol are quite similar, don't you think?

I've read three panel souls comics before, or just after discovering dwarf fortress. It does influence my vision of dwarves, and it also reminded me a lot of the fisher price pirates and knights I used to play with when I was little.



So, my dwarves still look like this in my head.

I see dwarves as little ascii faces.

Maybe I'm a little weird; ever since I was a kid playing BBS games, ascii graphics weren't abstract representations to me. The stuff in the games looked exactly like it did on screen.
