10ebbor10: You forgot bullets on there. I think a magnetic field would deal with those. unless they are nonferric I suppose.

A magnetical field could stop bullets(if they 're magnetic and strong enough), and when the field is loaded with electrical particles it will also stop misilles, plasma bolts, weaken lasers and stop anything with little mass and an electrical charge.

I have in my mind a beam that makes the target attract all electricity nearby.Its cheap as hell and invisible to the naked eye.

Consult the research commity. I have no idea how that would work. If we can build that then yes it would be very useful on planets.
