Anyway, things we can do.

Continue the management plan.

We might be able to trigger chances in the Algae by releasing modified algae( Made resistent to a Virus and with modified treast) and a Virus that targets the unmodified ones. For now I propose we research  higheryield but slower growth algae, continue the plan and expand the bioplastics industry.

As for the Terraforming, how about we make a prediction of what the future climates will be. (we have fast enough comps and base our plantings on that)

now this should ease living...

>research how to upgrade/make nanofactories into something faster
>research efficient airlock system, couple this with the space suits we have so there can be short spacewalks outside
>build another nanofactory
>with the free nanofactory, build small pods used to build the colony part by part, priority now on a climatized pod big enough for some residents (some sort of garden pod), some pods (eg: hospital pod, garden pod) may have unfueled thrusters to use as escape pods in case of emergency (being fueled from a pump), now, the pods are connected by airlocks to favor detachability and seal off parts of the colony (in case of emergency).

SOrry for double post, but I organised my ideas a bit better and added some new ones.

-Continue the algae management plan
-Use a retrovirus to modify the excisting algae to be easier to use. ( Ie Less focus on growth, more focus on easiness of being refined)

-Check what the future climate of Aries will be ( Ie calculate future oceans location/ rainshadows and such)
       - Seed planet with cyanobacteria and other to create a stable microenvironnement
       - Place plants in relevant future biomes( No Rainforests in futuree deserts and such)
       - Find a piece of to be flooded land that hasn't flooded yet and place a hydroelectrical power plant there

- Tech
      -Quantum computing
      -Nano assemblers
-Strong magnetic generators( For magnetic anti rad fields, Microparticle shields bullet deflection, and cloacking ships)
-Work on nuclear fusion. ( We have giant laser lenses, this should be trivial)

I just thought of it. How about thinking of a system that uses heat as energy.

Steam engine.

Serious now, there are some metals that turn heat into light extremely easily. This light can then be used to power photovoltaic fields.

Why not perfect the breakdown and use of materiels. Think of stroyent. Then again I guess we already have that with algae. Look anyway.

Nanobots tend to be very efficient for breaking down minerals.

Do you mean the avians or the UV users? The avians, sign language would be better. The UVers I have no idea how we would do that. Please keep suggestions in their respective threads (ie EDE) Yeah. I'm a hipocrite.
I ment the UV users.

what this guy said got me thinking,
do all pods get shot down on a deadly way?
if they are salvageable then there should be some research done on a black box thing implemented to the pod, not only to see WHY they were shot down when we make contact, but also encoding some languages and morse all over the ship and send it there.

what is the hardest material we have as of now?
>investigate current metals/rocks durability
>select the hardest ones and do further testing (temp. resistance, if they shatter easily, etc)
>have them carved into a pod solely designed to send the message
>send the pod and wait for the best

space mail!

how about sending three sacrificial messages in a can.m Design the container to send a copy of it to float out in space minutes before impact, and shoot another towards the planet (moon). both could contain things related to our culture, simple mechanisms, and carved images.

We don't know where they are.
Signals are coming from the moons on the Gas giants. That might be a start.

We are going to build a probe to get a better idea of radio signal origin. The UVers shouldn't be to hard to pinpoint.
