dip in magma for one tick, with a well stocked hospital around the channel. id say a 3% chance they live, with about a .001% chance of having no eyes but being functional.

so yah it will take about 1000 dwarfs but youll get lucky eventually.

Choose a small dwarven civ, get in adventurer mode and use your adventurer to blind as much people from that civ as possible, then start a fortress and hope they'll move to your fort :P

1.) Mod in a custom syndrome that causes blindness. 
2.) Have a reaction that produces a food/drink that will use this syndrome. 
3.) Have a dwarf consume food/drink
4.) ???????
5.) Blind Prophet

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Anything that can damage the eyes when it comes to magma kills the Dwarf. And the skinny Dwarf magma swimmer bug still exists...

The most reliable way to remove the eyes in vanilla is with a suitable syndrome. FB's, Titans and I guess maybe now some mists / rains, but ironically eyes appear to be much harder to remove now :|
