The most terrible curse
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:06:51 am »

"In the late autumn of 208, Nomar cursed the reptile man Stroso Archbold the Hide of Deer to assume the form of a gecko-like monster every full moon in Spunshovel."

So the lizard dude is cursed to become a lizard dude every full moon.

Interestingly enough, Nomar Minecaves was most often depicted as a female draltha associated with caverns.

Well, I can see a point in such curse - often theres much more hatred between different ethnic groups of same species than between different species.
Is there any more insulting curse for dwarf, for example, than to become an elf every full moon?

Well, they're all kind of human-like.  Physically, I mean.

So what your saying is that the RL equivalent of this curse would be an American cursed to become a WereCanadian?

Do not speak of such things!

I have a friend who claims to have a were-Canadian girlfriend.

You know, she's supposedly really pretty, but nobody ever sees her, and people keep being savaged by The Onion on the night of the full moon.

That doesn't have to mean the two forms are the same.

Consider the Incredible Hulk.  His alternate form is quite abnormal for a human, but "human-like monster" describes it better than a reference to any other species.

Say, that sounds familiar. I wonder why.  :P

Well, that reptile man apparently made a draltha PO'ed, and is now forced to sell car insurance for the rest of his immortal life.

Lizard man and gecko aren't even same species, they just both happen to be reptiles. It's like a human getting cursed to occasionally turn into some other lesser mammal, like a.. oh I don't know, just throwing this out there.. a wolf maybe?

Actually it's more comparable to a human turning into a different primate, which probably still sucks. I mean, how'd you like to be a part-time baboon, with all the glowing butt it comes with? WEREBABOONS, MAN! They will come and make our butts glow red during full moon!
