Weregecko

I choked on my drink when i read this werebeast turn up on my fortress. This is my first fortress games ever, and most of my time spending reading wiki and try to struggle through the UI almost without cursor.

Surprisingly, the weregecko turn into dwarf and now working in my fortress or turn one of mine into weregecko not sure which one but i was busy laughing my ass off. At first, pets are started missing and then one of my dwarf turn up dead. What should i do to the weregecko?

On one hand, it's a dwarf who once a month goes into beast-mode and is a threat to anyone near.

On the other hand, it's a dwarf who once a month heals themself of all injury.

They'd make a nice soldier, transforming drops all your stuff so there wouldn't be a weregecko armed in adamantine, running around either.

I have a fortress full of werebison. I have to be careful how I introduce new recruits, but as long as I remember to lock them all in the mines with a single resident before the erm-fun-starts, it works out well enough. They're all naked and I can't get them to fix that, but it doesn't really seem to matter. The only ones who really need to wear anything are the militia. The monthly healing is well worth the grief.
