The way it's worded, I think the second part is an example. I would double all points currently in play, based off of it. It's not meant to be extremely serious, and little disputes like that can easily be decided by the host of the game. I agree it could be a little clearer, but not bad enough to warrant the trouble of editing it.

Hah, you think what your seeing is bad just take a closer look at the wording of it again. It says 100 becomes 200 and -100 becomes -200, not that your points become such. This means that as read it takes any 100's in the game and makes them 200 and any -100's in the game and makes them -200.

The intent of the card is clear and you are maybe kinda taking this more seriously than the situation warrants.

I thought it was. The intent was simply to clarify handling of negative values. Not to list three unrelated commands. But it looks like some people need a grammar lesson.

No, periods have nothing to do with it. Look at the text:

"Double your points. 100 becomes 200. -100 becomes -200."

The first sentence is in imperative form. It is a command. The second and third are not. They are describing an event, not commanding it.

Example:

"Go to hell" vs "going to hell"

"Go to hell" is a command. "Going to hell" is not. If someone tells you to go to hell, it's understood that's what they want you to do. But if somebody said "going to hell" it would never occur to you to think that they were instructing you to do so. Similarly, "100 becomes 200" is clearly not a command, because "becomes" is conjugated in the present rather than imperative form.

So apperantly, I am filled with rage. UNLESS of course that picture is people responding to me.

Which given the card's effect (I am complimented that I actually have a pretty good card) it being open would make sense. (Ignoring that it is clear it is supposed to be me overreacting to cards).

What is odd is that... This is actually a more interesting effect and one I can sort of see the strategy in using. As using that card effectively means that your goal is to fill your deck up with 100 and -100 cards. A "Small value" deck.

I need to add more cards to this somehow. Does this system even support "Tokens"?

I already stated that I was in my original post. When a card doubles your score, It isn't really meant to be taken too seriously. Plus a lot of the cards do "nothing" anyhow.

However, i once had a rather annoying gym substitute who would say things like "sitting down!" when what she meant was "everyone sit down!"

Ohh that is because the Gym substitute was calling the name of the move you need to perform instead of telling you to do that move.

Taichi does that as its thing. "Walk on Clouds" instead of "Everyone walk on clouds".

It is a different way of doing it, but not less valid unless someone is inconsistant with it.

Neonivek - There's only one deck, and yeah, I've seen plenty of use of "tokens" of various sorts.

It just depends on the cards really.

(I was a big fan of the extra lives, and the card that said dead players couldn't win. Heheheh)
