Oh, and if possible, as a title, given my job is either doctor or mechanic: Crazed Scientist, please.
This is a Leatherbound Journal. It is of mediocre to high quality. It menaces with spikes of... You can't seem to identify what it is. You hope you'll find out inside of the journal.
Hello journal!
My name is Urist, bu -A large blood smear covers the rest of the page, you can't make out the words.
21st of Hematite, journal of Tomio, the Great Inventor!
Seeing as the previous owner, a miner by the name of Urist, who was drafted into the militia when there was a siege decided that it was time to write in his journal while charging at a Bronze Colossus (Note, must get hold of one of these alive. They are particularly interesting!), I was assigned this journal by our manager, as I still needed one. Let's not talk about the previous one, it involves a lot of blood, some dead crocodiles, and some more stuff you really don't want to know about (Trust me on this one journal, please do.). Seeing as I'm going to be transferred to another fortress soon, which may or may not have something to do with a few of my... "Special" boars running rampant, I decided I should keep a lower profile next time. Or at least, a locked door. Anyway, back to my story. I'm currently headed for a new fort by the manager, and boy, was he furious! He told me there was no room there "for your crazy shenanigans!" and that I should go to another fortress. She put it more bluntly (let's just say the fortress now has a few less mugs and I have a new hammer...), but I'll not go into detail. Anyway, I love to experiment, mostly on animals of course, I wouldn't want to harm a dwarf... Although the do make quite a good test subject. But, I digress. I'm still on the way, and hopefully I'll not only make it there, but I sincerely hope there are other, more intelligent dwarves in this new fort called Spearbreakers than there were back in the Mountainhomes. They couldn't even appreciate a good experiment! Anyway, I did some research on the fort. Main export: Mugs. Mugs, mugs and more MUGS. General chaos level 10. General chaos level in the Mountainhomes, 1. The lower, the better, it was always assumed. Oh, and that's on a scale of 1 to 5. Well, at least there'll be enough chaos for me to ascertain I can work fairly undetected. I also heard about it's little... Spawn problem. They seem quite interesting, and I would give my entire right side to experiment on one... Although, not my right arm, I need that for... Let's just say I'm not married.
Anyway, journal, I've been writing a lot for now, you'll hear about me soon!
Tomio, G.I.
