Caravan trade list - items to offer blank?

When I go to a caravan to trade, on my side where I should be able to offer them items, nothing shows up. Any ideas why?

You have to haul stuff to the depot first, just q on the depot, then you get a list whit just about everything tradeable in your fort. (unfortunatly, not including children)

Right, the list on the right, where I should be able to select stuff to haul there, is blank.

q on the depot then you press g to pick stuff to haul to the depot, after stuff has been hauled then you press t to trade.
