i think that instead of hergled being a discrete element, it ought to be a compound of elements.

Hergled is actually a manifestation of a 5D shape onto a 3D space.

So it turns out its not an element at all.

Why would it have to be compound? Because it acts strangely? Acting strangely is a weird thing to discourage when we're making werid physics. Because it doesn't make anything? In real life, ununoctium isn't even naturally found at all, yet is an element.
