Civ number restrictions?

i know the whole "choose your civ!" thing isn't setup properly just yet, but i was wondering:

How many civs are capable of existing (read: not playable, but still interactive) in the current .33a version?
I'd love to have 6+ caravans arriving on my doorstep every year... Or 6+ seige groups   :D
