Crowdchucks the toy boat of awesomeness
« on: February 24, 2012, 03:55:20 am »

Hey guys, in my current fort a three year old girl called Thikut decided to create the most epic toy of all time, "Crowdchucks the Aquamarine Plays". She used about hundred stones and ores and the description is several pages long. Shortly after her arrival, she went into a mood and started to haul stones and other materials for about a year. I think the other children will be really jealous now when Thikut will play with her new toy  :D

Description:

The artifact is worth 1537200 Urists:

Seems as as she has a few autistic character traits, what would explain how she could engrave half the dwarven history on a little toy boat.
So what do you think, most awesome artifact of all time? Maybe I should find this boat in adventure mode and use it as a weapon   :)

Its the planepacked glitch, not unique, but congratulations for having it happen accidently :D

(planepacked glitch has something to do whit burrows, i think that if dwarves claim a workshop outside their burrow they will respect it for getting materials or something like that)

You can trade it for tons of steel bars.

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.

Exactly as effective as any other toy boat made out of cassiterite.

Actually, it should be 3x as effective, because of the artifact modifier.

I highly doubt those apply to improvised weapons, and "3x as effective" is an extremely weird way to put it anyway; it's extremely doubtful that an artifact weapon does three times as much damage per turn as a normal-quality one.

I'm pretty sure it's been tested that you're better off killing a man with a masterwork sock than a regular one.

Did anyone test if it's more deadly if it's been on a miner's foot for years?
