Unless Urist McUselessnoble responds within the time limits, I'd be happy to replace in. I've been following this game, but I've already been in a Beginner's Mafia whereas I don't know if 'Noble has; if he hasn't, he should take priority for obvious reasons.

Also, do you check your PMs?

Right. You'd think I'd be more on the ball about this system I just implemented.

I responded to McArathos that I wanted to sub in, and I have been skimming the thread as the game went along, and re-reading just now. Haven't gotten a role PM yet, but Jesus Haploid Christ what a mess uber pye's dumping on my head. Oh, well, good practise for dealing with sticky situations I guess.

Urist McUselessNoble has replaced in for uber pye.

Day is modextended to Thursday, 9 PM CST/Friday 3 AM GMT!

Considering the boring mess that Day 2 has been thus far, I strongly encourage everyone to make good use of this extra time.

Quiet in the peanut gallery, people. I don't like seeing people outside the game making more posts than the people who are in the game.
Oh come on, this game is going to break some kind of record. Isn't that a fun thing?

Have fun, don't get lynched :D
The last bit is... not exclusively my call, and frankly I don't like the odds at this point. So. I'll start by laying down my suspicions, so people can have the suspicions of a confirmed townie after I flip:

obolisk:
I think there is more scum hunting to be done, and an idiot shouldn't get in the way of that.
For example, Mii seems a bit eager to jump on people, although not much has been posted, so I can't be to sure.
I know this is D1 material, but that is a blatant, blatant attack on the most active player, with the most aggressive scumhunting (leaving aside the ICs) at the time you made that post. With zero, zip, zilch, nada justification.

You wanna tell the rest of us why that's something Town!obolisk would be doing? Because I can easily see how it's something Scum!obolisk would be doing.

And lo and behold, here you do it again. Different target, same pattern.

Mii:
Here you switched your vote from uber pye to Magma McFry on the basis, as far as I can see, that Magma was being a raging asshole. The justification at the end of the post seems... tacked on, for lack of a better term. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you were voting an unpopular player more because he was being unpopular than because he was being scummy.

And right now I don't know any better.

penngo:
You've got plenty of suspicions, but haven't cast a single vote all game. My brain is too mushy from two back-to-back re-reads to qualify why I don't like this, but the fact that you went "WTF?" at uber pye ninjaing McFry near the end of D1, but didn't vote him despite this fact is somewhere near the top of my list. Scelly is also guilty of this, but Scelly is confirmed town at this point.

And finally... Q&A time
Quote from: Everybody and their little dog too
Various variations on "WTF uber pye, why did you ninja McFry?"
Damfino. It makes no sense to me, and pye didn't leave a note for me with an explanation. Since I've seen his role PM and therefore know he was town, I can only believe that he actually figured that any lynch was better than no lynch. Why McFry? Damfino, but the fact that he was being an asshole to everyone mid-D1 might have had something to do with it.

Urist, I am paranoid, and distinctly remember that in the first Begginers Mafia, Vector was being extreamly active, going against lurkers.  And it turned out Vector was scum.  As far as the vote for Mii went, that was because it looked like Mii was consistantly going for easy lynches.

It's a BM, obol. Ain't nothing but ICs and easy lynches around. That's the point of a BM.

Unvote Urist McUselessNoble. I can completely believe uber pye would make that horrible a move as town.

Mii, suspects? You're not voting. You haven't actually made a single post during Day 2. Where'd you go?

Urist, I am paranoid, and distinctly remember that in the first Begginers Mafia, Vector was being extreamly active, going against lurkers.  And it turned out Vector was scum.  As far as the vote for Mii went, that was because it looked like Mii was consistantly going for easy lynches.

You took away the wrong lesson there. There were several people who were being extremely active and going for lurkers. Some of them were scum, but more were town. That game was extremely active for everyone regardless of alignment. The lesson? That extremely active players are not necessarily scum.

It depends a lot on the player, and to a lesser extent, alignment. I'd say the tendency is that scum players are less active, not more active, than they would normally be if they were town, but the difference is usually pretty small, usually insignificantly so. If the player's got a lot of experience under his belt, you won't be able to tell the difference. You might have a chance noticing the difference with a less experienced player.

I was under the impression that "It's BM, most everyone here is a noob" is an argument that doesn't fly here.

Neither does the argument "you're only going after the noobs, so you must be scum."

For much the same reason.
