For planning purposes, I want to know how much food an average dwarf needs. Right now, my entire fortress is hauling an es load of objects because I reclaimed. I just want to know if I can survive untill they are done or if I have to turn of hauling for key dwarves.

A lotta people will say turn off hauling for key dwarves anyway, but in answer to yer question they seem to need to drink twice a sleep cycle and eat once.  I think they only eat one meal at that time (each obviously.)

I think they'll eat six times a year, but dwarves don't sleep nearly that much.  Drinking is a little over twice that much.

Roughly one meal every other month...  No wonder they're that short.
