So yeah, this is basically going to be the OoC log of me flailing and not knowing what I'm doing as I acclimate after two years of inaction.

Step 1: Embark!

Did the thing where I get as many different kinds of meat as I can. I don't know if that still makes free barrels, but I hope so~

Skipped all the intestines and organs and stuff because I don't know what to do with those.

How does a bismuth artifact (first bar I got, bought it as soon as the caravan arrived when my weaponsmith mood'd :I) even do as compared to steel?

At least I got an Artifact Weaponsmith out of it....

IIRC artifacts just max out the possible strength of the metal, so it probably isn't that great a weapon. I'm not that sure about bismuth or spears though, neither come up much in my games. At worst you can put it in a weapon trap in the dining room so people can admire it. And a legendary weaponsmith in the first go is well worth the price of admission by itself.
