Going out with a vengenance(What you did as your dwarves fell to avenge them)

My fort crumbled to its end due to my legendary military being crushed by undead hordes of albatrosses who came from inside a slade citadel. The albatrosses then proceeded to slaughter many husband and wives and children who were gathering wood in the caverns. I sealed off the caverns and a forgotten beast appeared. A giant spider with pink hair. Well I ignored it and tried recovering from the crushing tantrum spirals and loss of the entire military. (The spirals took 40 dwarves)

I tried to get back with the 20 dwarves I had and well... that didnt work out some goblins ambushed(first time I hadn't seen them in the 4 years of play)me and I had yet to restore my military might so I decided I would release a terrible vengeance upon the goblins and opened the caverns.

Beware oh goblins for Sizir Sneakedwaved the moist subltelty of Umbras comes for you.

Current project:

1: find aquifer level.
2: build 3x3 pit 10 z-levels deep beneath it.
3: channel 1x1 tube from pit to magma sea, or cavern, whichever comes first.
4: add floodgate in alcove at top of pit, floodgate at bottom.
5: link floodgate to pressure plates in main hall, bedroom hall, and meeting hall.
6: link pit pressure plate to support.

Did I mention I'm channeling out the entire fort as a magma piston over the magma sea? :-D

tl:dr, If all my dwarves are being killed off/dying, most of the embark drops into oblivion, taking whatever's killing them with it.
